Pretty good, but clearly not in the same league as the previous two, especially the first, of course. I once read that Coppola had a finished script with a major part for Tom Hagen and was all set to shoot when Robert Duvall pulled out because a deal could not be made with the studio. The late rewrite clearly took something away from it, on top of which Sophia Coppola cannot act her way out of a brown paper bag. Still, it's a good movie, and finishes the story of Michael Corleone in a satisfactory way.
I rate III lower.
I felt that Pacino's performance was not convincing me he was playing the same character. I thought Joe Mantegna and Andy Garcia were good.
From what I remember Robert Duvall was upset that Copolla was paying Diane Keaton a million dollars and would not pay him equally. Duvall's presence would have gone a long way toward creating a more believable continuation of The Godfather saga. Winona Ryder was cast to play the daughter and pulled out at the last minute citing exhaustion. I'm guessing it was of the nasal variety. Sophia Coppola was definitely in over her head. In one scene with Andy Garcia you could see her lip trembling. I'm glad she is having a good career as a director. When she was a baby she played the baby in the christening scene in II.
Godfather III came out the same year as Goodfellas and Millers Crossing. I never thought III deserved the Oscar nomination for best picture. Goodfellas should have won but it went to Dances with Wolves.

Three Billboards outside Ebbing Missouri(2017)- 8.5/10
This one was interesting. An atypical crime drama wherein the plot revolves not around the causitive crime, but rather the snowballing effect initiated by the victim's mother in looking for answers. Frances Mcdormand is very compelling in the strong woman role and steals the movie, not only for her conviction but also through her failings and unlikability which portray a more believable heroine than is usual ov Hollywood. Acting is very good throughout and a good balance is acheived with sporadic humor and violence sequences. A well put together small town drama.
I want to see Three Billboards. Mcdormand and Sam Rockwell are very good and it was nice to see Rockwell get the recognition.

Very interesting. Goodfellas is the best of the lot. Thanks for the info.

Weird horror movie, not at all scary, not very good, period. Coppola, considering what he's done, has no business making a movie like this. Utterly forgettable.

Strange when one gets into a heightened substance induced awareness how one can tell when one is reading lines from a script and when one just improvises. Those are the most entertaining to me.
An actor being themselves.
God, I am on one massive bender. Feel like a comedy. Last movie I saw was Wonder with Owen Wilson and Roberts. First time I tried to watch it I couldn't stop laughing because of how fucked up I was and kept thinking of Owen and his brother in the Royal Tentanboms.
Have used peyote quite a bit and when he is on it and sitting there in that scene with his brother on it and that dream like state one gets into, and that horrid art, "did you say something?" When it is just dead quiet the absurdity of it I couldn't stop laughing thinking of that.
So I had to watch it later on Hulu and was good for 2/3rd's of it then it turned into emotional tripe, p.c. garbage.
If I went back to school now knowing what I know there are so many people I would just say fuck off to. And I really should of lost my virginity and accepted the blow job offered then by a a girl that was into me but was afraid. Point being, watching a movie centered around growing up in the education system is interesting.
A friend and I once in home mec., I don't even know what they call it anymore, put silverware in a microwave to see what would happen. Now we would be called terrorists, then, it was for fun and to see what would happen. But holy shit, one used to think it was bad to get called into the principles office for bad behavior, nowadays I think they would say we were trying to blow up the school.

Good effort from those who made made it but it had no lasting impact and I can't remember much of it. Pleased I read the book years before seeing the film. Also I did not enjoy seeing the Whales being killed.

I'm hooked on the Rainmaker. Probably seen it 20 times. John Grisham books do a good job of showing the greasy lower end of the legal profession (like when they're working for Bruiser) as well as the top end. Coppola did a nice job with the movie. Jon Voight seems to be spending his late career effectively playing scumbags (see also Ray Donovan).

Apparently I had my head in the clouds when this was in the news so I didn't really know what to expect going in. What an incredible journey for the viewer and for all of those involved with the three documentaries which spanned over approx. 18 yrs.

Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb 7.5/10
Not a bad movie. Pretty goofy and dumb in some of the parts, but i enjoy this type of surreal fantasy. I like where they took the sequel.
Some great cameos here too. It was also great to see Robin Williams again Even had some touching moments at the end that made me tear up a little. Good wholesome movie.

A classic, with one of the best endings I have ever seen in any movie. Like many Fincher movies, the entire point is the very first viewing, but subsequent watches are still great. Exceptional.
