Halloween (2018) 7/10
I had high hopes for this. It did deliver on some, but utterly failed with others. As a sequel to the original it's amazing. It keeps the same tone and pacing throughout (although Micheal is far more brutal) as the original. BUT the tone and pacing of the original is pretty much what kills that movie for me. So... the sequel is excruciating slow. You get moments of intensity, but then it dies off almost instantly. The tension really has no chance to build up; it just spurts out once in awhile. It's well done and has numerous Easter egg references, but does nothing about the gaping plot holes in the first, while introducing some of it's own. Then there's the ending... Really? That's the ending you actually went for? *fart noise* I mean I see where the next one will probably go, but do I even care?
I'm glad I saw it, but quite honestly I'm really glad my friend paid for my ticket.

Nice review, and out of interest, what are some of your favourite horror movies?

Most instant answer would be The Thing (one of Carpenter's best by far).
Going through my Plex horror category, these are the immediate standouts.
Alien Baskin Cabin in the Woods The Devil's Candy The Devil's Rejects Evil Dead (1,2 and Remake) Grave Encounters Hereditary I Saw the Devil A Nightmare on Elm Street Pontypool Saw Suspiria The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2003 remake) Trick 'r Treat The VVitch

Just watched UFO. 9/10
Great movie. It was based on the Chicago O'Hare Airport UFO incident. Showed all the behind-the-scenes so to speak of what the government did and how they dealt with the issue. Really great take on the subject. And Scully from X-Files was in it too!
Only lame part was the love story. Really ridiculous. But everything else was top notch and thought provoking.

Been binge watching Ghost Adventures. I believe the real thing and it being Halloween and all. As for movies, will watch Trick R Treat again tonight. Halloween favorite. Plays on every fear people have of the holiday. The ending is dumb as it was made during the time when that HBO series true blood was so popular, but how the adults act in it is really fucked up but in a amusing and funny way.
I mean, nobody puts razor blades in candy and that isn't a spoiler but, their are some really more fucked up things in this like with the special needs kids and the parents that don't want them and the bus driver. But done in a fun spirited way, like you know there will be revenge and it is more tongue in cheek meaning you know you are watching a movie meant for this time of year for fun.
Worth watching.

The Fault in Our Stars
9.8/10
Really enjoyed this one so so much!
It's a bit over 2 hours, and deserves not to be viewed after a long busy day.
I like to watch movies on a weekend morning when I am fresh and open.
