Calibre. Holy shit, what a mess one can put oneself in when younger and small town life where everyone knows everyone and your a tourist. Highly recommend this one. Talk about grey areas in life and ones decisions in it. Best not to be a hunter.

Man, is it that bad? I've seen all of them and it is was entertaining but if one has to rate, would give them all 5/10's. No spoilers, and thank you for that, but that bad? I don't doubt your judgement and I wouldn't see it in a movie theater for that price but that is a let down, this prequel. Had higher hopes for it.

Darkest Hour 9/10 This movie got much better in the 2nd half. It wasn't about Britain's darkest hour. It was just before that when they made the decision to fight rather than capitulate to Germany.
It resorted to sentimentality but that seemed accurate as Winston Churchill's main skill was as an orator. He became famous for being the cheerleader that rallied the country together.
It was very difficult to really recognize Gary Oldman with the makeup job. You could occasionally tell from his eyes, but mainly I kept catching glimpses of Oldman as Dracula.

Lol. Your Dracula comment. He did get a Oscar and you are a Brit so I get why you would give it such a high score. Feel stupid going to see the Antman and the Wasp tomorrow compared to that but there is time for fun in movies and time for historical dramas. Holy shit though, that man could drink and I think he needed it for that war and that time.

Hey fellow movie lovers! Kinda new to the forum.
I definitely wanna jump in on this thread! I've been getting more committed to watching at least one movie every day or two, so I should be able to regularly post here
I watched "25th Hour" today. I give it a rating of 4/10.
I guess it was a solid movie, not too much to the plot line. Directed by Spike Lee, but that doesn't really mean too much to me haha. Lots of background 9/11 references too (for some reason). I love Edward Norton, his performance in the movie was great, it reminded of his Fight Club character actually. But overall pretty good acting from the whole cast.
I guess I gave it a relatively low rating because it wasn't an amazing movie. There were definitely some cool, deep scenes, but I thought it was kinda weird and the plot line was kinda dull, and I thought there were some scenes/characters that were just kind of irrelevant. I don't think I'd watch it ever again

Today I watched "28 Days Later..." and "28 Weeks Later" back to back.
"28 Days Later..." was not good lol nothing special, just your typical zombie apocalypse movie. No big actors, not much dialogue in the first half of the movie, and the last half kinda takes a weird sort of unrelated twist. If you're into zombie apocalypse movies, maybe give it a watch, but I wouldn't recommend it otherwise. I rate it 2/10.
"28 Weeks Later" was better for sure. Still not that great, again, typical zombie apocalypse stuff. However, this one definitely had much more action, generally more thrilling and scary overall. It is technically a sequel to the first one, but they're pretty unrelated, only the "infection" theme is the same. In other words, you don't need to watch the first one to watch this one, and I would recommend this one over the first for sure. I rate it 4/10.
Something that did fascinate me about these movies though, is this: How do make it look like entire cities have been evacuated? In the second movie, they show a ton of overhead shots of the city of London, and somehow they make it look completely empty. No people anywhere, no power, all buildings, stadiums, streets, etc. are all empty and look so run down. Of course in real life London is extremely populated. I just wonder how they pull it off so well.

idk, it just seemed really slow and uneventful, and I found the whole military camp situation in the second half was just kind of weird.
I know I've seen a couple zombie movies but so long ago that I just can't remember them. Zombie movies aren't entirely my thing, they're usually worse than most other horror movies imo. The only zombie movie I can think of off the top of my head is "Shaun Of The Dead" I really liked that one, but it was mostly a comedy, so idk if that even counts lol
Any recommendations?
