Gonzo: The Life and Work of Dr. Hunter S. Thompson
9.5/10
Good documentary. HST was a total bastard, but he was one hell of a writer. The book called Gonzo, which is not affiliated with this film, goes into greater depth about how cruel a man he was. Most people don't care about that sort of thing, but I do. The film touched on it some, too. But it's an adventurous biography considering how interesting his life was at times, and extremely well-done. Fans and non-fans alike would enjoy it.

Wonder Woman 84
0/10
Worst movie I've seen in years, by far. I was mesmerized by how awful of a movie it was. Movie scholars could probably create an entire University school course on this movie alone teaching people what not to do when making a movie.
Ready Player One
7/10
Good movie.
The Hobbit trilogy
8/10
I read the book recently and rewatched the movies. On second viewing and immediately following reading the book, I think the movies did very well and any expanded stuff actually strengthens the story and characters beyond what the book itself might have.

Spooky Encounters (1980) 8/10

This was a very bizarre and wildly entertaining movie. The kung fu choreography is incredible. This is my first viewing of a movie starring Sammo Hung (who also directed the film) and his acting is very comedic. I recently saw a documentary on the history of kung fu films and he started out along side Jackie Chan in many movies. They have very similar styles as far as comedy kung fu and the ability to create a weapon or shield out of anything that is readily available. The final fight at the climax of the film has to be seen to be believed.

The Fisher King (1991) 9/10

This was my first time to watch the entire thing. I tried to watch it when it first came out on cable TV, but I was too drunk to keep it together. I guess I have also put off trying to watch it again because that first time I tried to watch it was with my friend John and that is one of the last memories I have of him before he committed suicide. This is really a fantastic film. I am such a fan of Terry Gilliam's work and this did not disappoint. I had many laugh out loud moments. There is an underlying message in this film that conveys that sanity is subjective.

I just watched psycho from 1960. I really like that movie it’s really good for something from 1960. I would give it 9.5 out of 10. I never seen it till today but my other favorite old horror movie is The Last House on the Left but that’s 1972. I’m into disturbing movies.

The Happiness of the Katakuris (2002) Original title: Katakuri-ke no kôfuku
“A family moves to the country to run a rustic mountain inn when, to their horror, the customers begin befalling sudden and unlikely fates.”. “The Sound of Music meets Dawn of the Dead!”

I don’t know why but I love this stupid movie. When I found it it was so strange, so ridiculous, and so foreign that it’s all beyond hilariously dumb to me. The random “toolesque/primusesque claymation opener that they throw in there really threw me for a loop…straight trippy…then progressing into the non animated regular film…ahh haha.
¿¡A very solid 8/10 Japanese tongue in cheek comedy- lite horror-romance-drama!?

Lisztomania (1975) 8/10

Holee sheet, this movie! Imagine if Holy Mountain and 200 Motels has an illegitimate love child, that would be this movie. Even Ringo plays The Pope! It is filled with surrealism and plenty of Ken Russell's symbolism and sacrilege and at times I couldn't believe what I was watching. According to people that I know that are well versed in the lives and music of classical composers, Liszt was the first "rock star" and this movie portrays that aspect well. I highly recommend whilst viewing highly.

Wow, this movie is far out! It feels so normal yet so bizarre and creepy at the same time. Its the strangest feeling. I loved the subtle psychedelia and use of bright colors and sounds. Really unique! It gets pretty brutal so be prepared
Im not sure I would want to watch this on Shrooms

Ms. 45 From 1981 starring a 17 year Zoë Tamerlis

A very fast-paced film with little exposition which follows a mute seamstress, Thana, who is violated in New York City. She suffers a traumatic breakdown and proceeds to gun down every man she happens to come into contact with. Intimate directing, emotional scenes with convincing acting, and an old lady landlord to deliver some comic relief with her curious little dog. A good deal of gore is included and some time is spent showing how the woman deals with the consequences of her actions. This adds a silent psychological angle to the film which is both disturbing and intriguing. 7/10

Apocalypse Now (Theatrical version)
10/10
Random re-watch. This is one of my favorite films ever. To me it is a perfect movie. I think I like the Redux a little better, but it doesn't subtract anything from the original theatrical cut. Historic filmmaking.
