so this is the badest cluster of all my cakes. it started to pin like that invitro. it was birthed some 36hrs ago. I'm wondering what I should expect from such a thing, it definitly suffered from beign in a jar, as you can see, but is it gonna overcome that and every pin will emerge into a beautiful mushroom or is it just gonna stall and i should 'harvest' it already???
ALSO
see that myc on the left tryin to get on that pin!!!!!! wtf is up with that???????
help a noob out plz
thanks.

allright the cake in the picture above seem to be doing fine for the moment, it's growing.
but I got these other 2 cakes that are worrying me, the pins are 'frosting' I don't know if it's mycelium or contam. it doesn't smell bad at all.

so, what's going on there? what can/should I do??

They definitely look wet. When you spray, stand there and fan till your arm aches. Then do that repeatedly throughout the day.

I set a fan on the lowest setting.
should I feel some air movement near the fc or that would be too much?

You don't want a fan. You want to mist and fan.
And can we get some pics of the overall setup? Great shots of individual cakes, but no context.

I'm already fanning 6+ times a day, like every 2h or so. misting 3 times a day. my last(and first) grow I got maad aerial myc and it eventually contamed before fruiting. I tought some air movement would help with FAE.

That towel could get moldy from all the misting and humidity.. I think I would remove it. It serves no purpose anyway.

so it looks like I got that colonizing pins under control with the fan and me fanning like every hour or so(good thing I'm on a medical break from work...) it's not getting worse I think but it's not recovering either.
under ideal/perfect conditions, should I expect these shrooms to grow out that myc and mature? stall and abort? stall, abort, contam and ruin the cake???
I'm really trying to understand what's going on here.
anyway I'll post pics tommorow.

plus I dont have/can't afford a PC right now.

I skipped PF and went straight to 7 monos all at once. You can do it, but you're right, PC is crucial. Buy a PC and it'll pay for itself QUICK. Check Goodwill!

Agreed. I'm doing bulk right now, and it's my first time. Going good so far. And you can't stress checking Goodwill enough. My buddy picked one up for $3, then looked up the model online and it was $50!

ok so I've done my fair share of waiting and seeing and here are some pics of the cake in the first post

so I guess I just harvest everything, rinse, dunk and put back in FC tommorow. but what about the pack of shroom all together that never really grew, are they safe to eat??? and what about those with white on them????
ALSO why my fruits are so small, low humidity?? if so I guess I'll ditch the fan....

Eat 'em.
Small fruits can have many causes. Genetics, contams, but usually soggy cakes. You need to let them dry a bit and then rewet them. Takes practice. You're very close.

so I got the white 'myc' off pretty easily with some toilet paper
when you say I need to let them dry a bit you mean when I first put them in the fc or throughout the whole fuiting time??
when I harvest them, what is worse; to leave a bit of myc over the cake or cutting a bit of the cake off???

You want to disturb the mycelium as little as possible, so it's better to leave some on the cake.
