A little over a week ago I got some spores from a harvest and I put them in a bag to draw them up into a syringe and I looked at it today and walah!

The bottom of the bag still look like it has some spores. Salvage that as well haha, a spore/myc combo syringe.

I wanna say contam, but it looks decent as far as I can tell.
Why did you not draw it up immediately?

How did you sterilize that water in the bag?

I did draw some up. I used entirely too much water obviously haha. I inoc'd a jar with it to see how it goes. I also did another spore print and got 2 syringes Oh and I boiled the water and put a plate over it and let it cool.

It does work very well if the water is boiled for 15-20 minutes. If I am in a hurry to make a syringe I will boil water for twenty minutes, then suck up a syringe full and let sit for 1-2 mins, then squirt the water into the sink (then repeat this 3 times) the last time filling up the syringe I leave it full and let it cool down.
Then I throw all my supplies in the GB, spray with lysol and get busy (this is a little shortened up from my whole process). I make my syringes by scraping spores from a print into a sterilized baby food jar and then squirting the water from the syringe into the jar, mix it up, then suck back into the syringe. I do this because I don't like syringes that are dark or have to many spores. This way I can scrape only what I need relevant to how many syringes I am making at the time and then save the un-used portion of the print for another time. This method hasn't failed me yet and I use it quite often

As long as you boiled the water long enough, and didn't expose the water to air for too long should turn out. I'm rooting for ya Let us know how it goes.

I made two today using the same technique but I left the cap on tin foil for 36 hrs and it left this this almost purple black print and I sucked water up into it and put the print in a shot glass and sprayed the water at it twice and then sucked the water up and I got plenty of spores, in fact, like I said I got two syringes and I have enough of that print to make at least one other.
Anyone want free spores?

Since you sprayed water on that print how are you storing it to dry back out? In the future you may want to try just scraping spores off into the shotglass with the tip, of the backside of a butter knife that has been wiped down with rubbing alcohol. Also just another tip (take it or leave it) but more spores doesn't not mean better. If it is a very dark print I am working with I use about two matchheads worth of spores per syringe, and my syringes look almost clear. They work great too
If you want to know why more spores is not better I will explain it or you can search (as it would probably make more sense coming from someone like RR)
Also make a post in the marketplace and offer a trade. If you want to just give them away thats cool too, but a lot of people are willing to trade and then you have another "strain"/variety to work with.

Oh that's a good point. I put it back under the glass it was under in the first place. Actually, I let it drip pretty well and there didn't seem to be any water left on it.

Yea boiling water for syringes is a quick easy way to sterilize syringes. In fact I do the same to clean my syringes. But I'm concerned about how he got the water in the bag without exposing it to air. With the boiling water syringe tek you suck it up while its boiling and the water that is sucked up isn't exposed to air. Unless he put the water in the bag while it was boiling and waited for it to cool. Would have to be a damn tough bag.

I just poured the water into it. I made a syringe as I said above and I inoc'd a jar. It looks pretty good so far. Just a few quarter size myc growths. And why talk about me instead of to me, I am the OP.

Good luck Galidor. Hope the myc keeps growing and nothing else. How big is that bag?

It's a small ziploc. I poured iso into it, shook it up, made sure it got everywhere and then rubbed the inside with Hydrogen peroxide. I had another post where everyone was incredibly doubtful of my methods but we'll see....

Influence, is there an extended version of the syringe method you were describing?

Well, the first print I made I put the cap and foil in a moist bag. A lot of the spores from that are in that bag up top. The other syringes I made, I used a glass jar that I put over the cap and foil for 36 hrs then I took the cap off using a paper clip, filled a syringe with sterilized water and squirted it at the print which then dripped into the bottom of the shot glass I was holding it in and walah! Spore syringe. I'll test those out next week.
