Ha, 2 ton bricks were shat by me and my buddy when we encountered that mountain lion. Those things can be aggressive when they want to be. They attack pretty frequently, unlike lone wolves.
Laughed about it afterwards though.
@borestiff. I like that you said the two of you seemed to be thinking "how are we gonna play this?" I imagined the mountain lion to be thinking the same thing at the time, like I was.......and I could tell my friend was thinking it too.

I'll bet you were also thinking 'sheiiittt....if that thing comes any closer I'm tripping this guy and running like the wind'

Lol. I wouldn't have even had to trip him. I'm a faster runner than he is. If I'd tripped him I'd feel guilty. That wouldn't be the case with outrunning him.

I'd be a little more nervous around a wolf than a coyote.. How bad can they really be?
I live in an area with a lot of gators around, which don't bother me one bit. In a boat? gator coming at you? come down on it with the end of your paddle.

Damn I once ran into what I'm pretty sure was a mountain lion in my woods and it scared the shit out of me. It was ether a mountain lion or a wolf cause I remember it was orange colored and fucking big, which is what lead me to buy a rifle for my woods, in case I ever saw that fucker again.
It really was eye opening though and luckily I saw it before I had walked in my woods, just walk right past me. That would be scary shit to see that once you're already way in surrounded by trees by yourself.
I've heard rule #1 is to stand your ground though cause if you run it could activate their predator instincts to chase after you.

^This. I had to grab my friend by the shoulder when he first saw it because he flinched and I thought he was going to run (he wasn't going to though).
Both of us would probably be dead if we hadn't stood our ground.

lol that video totally had me fooled there for a minute. my only scary encounter with a predator was a rattle snake in NM. luckily it let it's presence be known. i almost walked right up to it. i guess it could have been the kind that isn't poisonous but idk. i was in the middle of nowhere, too. probably would've been screwed if it had bitten me.

wow that's a cool omen
the other night i was walking around my suburban neighborhood when a coyote walked right across my path, under a streetlight. He did turn his head at me for a second, definitely a spiritual/awesome experience.

I ran into a white wolf before. The day before I had a 24 stone sweat with a few elders from my reserve, After we got out and started chowing down on the deer we shot the day before the oldest elder, the one I barely knew came and sat down beside and told me he had a vision about me. That my spirit animal was the wolf and some other personal things. I didnt fully believe him since he is a bit of a joker so I didnt think much of it, so after the feasts all done with we head our seperate ways, I get home and fall asleep a few hours later. I always sleep 9-11 hours straight without waking up but for some odd reason I woke up at about 4-30ish just as the suns rising. I couldnt fall back asleep either so I got my hoodie on and stepped outside for a smoke, there was a eerie fog around the house and as I came out I looked to the cornor of the yard and there was this huge white wolf laying down with his paws crossed over one another looking me dead in the eye. This intense spritual vibe washed over me and I got crazy chills up and down my spine, we locked eyes for about ten seconds then it slowly got up and trotted off into the fog, leaving me there to finish my smoke.

actually a friend who's into spiritual practises told me its a sign and related to shamanism somehow. right now im not taking it as a sign. i would, if the wolf ran into me in a supermarket or an apartment building. then i would be more like woah. still, a few years back i was making a wall painting and it was related to beasts/wolves. for a while i was sure some thing will come through the painting or is summoned.
BoA: so do you believe in spirit animals yourself?
