How to prevent nausea from shrooms

After seeing many posts complaining about the nausea while coming up on mushrooms, I thought I'd post my technique for preventing it. One thing that helps alot is to fast the day that you eat them, basically eat nothing. If you must eat, only eat fruits or vegetables. Another thing I have found useful is to do some light exercise before eating them. This speeds up metabolism and can help get rid of nausea a bit, just don't wear yourself out.

People also say to grind up your shrooms into powder and you will not get stomach sick. I have found certain strains to be more nausiating than others. Like Pf classic for instance. I've always gotten stomach sick from these where as mazatapec i've never gotten sick. Pf are much stonger and that could be the reason too.

i get really bad nausea on trips, and the best thing ive found for it is a doobie. not only does it intensify the trip but it just seems to work wonders with nausea.

Try papaya enzyme pills from the health food store. There's nothing better and believe me, I've tried everything!

I make sure that I feel perfectly fine before I ingest shrooms. This means spending a half-hour before hand sitting perfectly still, in a meditative posture, while focusing on what my body is feeling. Experience has taught me that the slightest sense of physical or psychological ill feeling will be amplified into evil nauseous nastiness by the shrooms.

On my first ever trip I felt slightly nauseous, and I got rid of the feeling by going snorkelling. I'm not sure whether it was the snorkelling which worked, though, or whether it was just because I was very, very distracted... So I guess trying to distract yourself might work.

Ginger works well. Out of the last 3 trips on shrooms, I only used Ginger once. The time I used Ginger, the nausea faded a lot quicker and I managed to keep it down. The other 2 times, the nausea got too intense (even after trying to hold on for as long as I could) and I ended up puking.

Or try this: chew the mushrooms really slowly without swallowing. This way, the alkaloids are absorbed in your mouth (through the tooth flesh and whatnot), which takes the strain from your stomach a bit. Also eating a dry cracker may help when you're starting to feel nauseous.

Heh, I think I'd be feelin a little more than nauseous just from the taste of munching on a handful of cubies without swallowing! Fasting is definatley good. It is practiced by loads of shamans and stuff, who's cultures have been taking psychedelics for, well, a damn long time. It works not only for shrooms but a host of other drugs too. One thing I've observed with fasting is, sometimes I can be a little TOO hungry which causes that hungry tummy feeling while I'm tripping. I find that eating after you've come up is pretty safe so long as its just a little snack. Don't forget to chew and swallow! hehehe... Actually, after experiencing this hunger, I realised that if I'm going to be tripping in the afternoon or evening, then it is better to actually have breakfast, preferably something with some carbohydates and a bit of fruit or something. Nothing too heavy, just a bit of fuel for the day. Another convinent way to avoid nausea is to wash down some powdered shrooms with a few swigs of ginger beer. It masks the taste pretty well and it contains ginger.

I dont get nausea from shrooms I get a slight pain in my stomach about half an hour after ingestion, which I believe is a most definateley a fair trade-off. Eating before taking a dose can seriously affect the nature of your trip (with dosages I have experience with) I prefer to eat lightly once during the day before I take my dose, eating more than a msall snack before dosing, I find leads to a longer come up and the peak will not be as enjoyable.... just my opinion though

I have been taking shrooms for years now, and until recently I never had any nausea problems. But, the last 5 times I have tripped ended up with me in the bathroom. The first time I was sick happened long after a very intense trip, I was already on the backside of the peak. I puffed some MJ awhile after I had puked and I felt better. I usually always smoke when I trip, but the other 4 times it has not worked.
The sickness I get reminds me of when I was sea sick as a boy. I tried a non-drowsy knockoff of dramamine once, that didnt help. I think I will try powdered ginger next, the papaya enzyme pills sound interesting too. Since the last time I was sick it has seriously dampened my interest in tripping, because peaking and puking do not mix well IME.
What is really odd to me is that the nausea will hit me at all different times, sometimes before peak, sometimes long after. To me it is more of a motion sickness type nausea instead of stomach upset, nastyness. I have no clue why it is just now bothering me, perhaps the most perplexing question of all. I wonder if my body is building up an allergy to them or something.

A lot of people say to fast before you shroom. However... i find that putting the shrooms on bread with peanut butter helps with the taste, and with my experince, helps with the nausea as well.

That's the best thing that ever worked with me, though I have never been sick while shrooming before. The only thing that happens to me is I get annoying leg cramps, and my stomach is really heavy, but don't think about puking, or else you will.

Okay guys, believe it or not, with the technique that I use (read above) I get zero nausea whatsoever. Sound too good to be true? I was surprised myself. The reason it causes nausea in the stomach is in fact a chemical reaction. The psilocybin in the mushrooms converts to psilocin before it reaches the brain. This is what's responsible for the nausea.

I thought it was mainly because you ingested something VERY hard to digest and get through your system.

Nausea, motion sickness, whatever it is...
I don?t know how to explain the way it makes me feel, but it is not cool, totally ruins a good trip every time. Never sends it south in a bad way or anything, but it just wrecks the experience by means of interruption. Its closer to a type of motion sickness at first, then the stomach gets involved.
I wonder now if it could be the cause of indigestible mushrooms, these are the only type I have ever eaten raw. Perhaps it is the slight loss of equilibrium that does it, but I know it must add to it. Once those waves start hitting you, it?s hard to keep the thoughts out of the mind. I have always eaten plenty of food early the day before, then nothing through the evening and the next day before I ingest (fasting a whole day is rough). That has always helped my heavy stomach, but not the affliction I have now. Even on a single gram once, I still had minor nausea.
The score is still 5 nauseated; I am waiting to get some Ginger before I try again. No rush. Anyone know if it would be better to get root from a specialty store, grind and encapsulate it, or just get ginger caps? I figure it would be fresh that way at least, but don?t want to waste my time with all that work (and traveling).
Peace, ATWAR

Either way it should work. You could also try sliced, pickled ginger (as is served with sushi) or candied ginger -- it's probably a bit of an acquired taste, but some people like these all on their own.
