All We Perceive said: I had that problem. My laptop would hardly boot and restarted randomly all the time. It had been raped by a series of viruses . After reformatting, it works perfectly.
When was that?
BTW every BSOD is different
Over the past 6 months or so. I got different versions of the windows defender virus multiple times from demonoid and had to manually remove it one time which completely fucked my registry. I was getting different BSOD as well, and I would in no way be surprised if I had a myriad of other viruses as well. At some point, my autosave rollback feature got fucked so I couldn't even do that. I would just save essential shit on an external and reformat.

I would go beyond blowing compressed air in - open it up and clean it right out. My buddy's computer was overheating, and blowing air in didn't help. When he opened it up, he found a TON of dust, cleaned it out, and it's been working perfectly since.

Weird, its working ok meaning no major critical malfunctions ever since I removed that metal plate. Hmm I was getting quite a bunch of memory related error messages and the dat plate was probably making contact at the base of the memory stick
I actually got tired of using my laptop after I removed it so I managed to pull a regular shutdown after a couple of hours

My parents laptop Just started doing something similar and I have no clue what's wrong with it.
Every time It's turned on it's just a matter of time before it freezes. I'm thinking it's a hardware issue but I really have no idea. I'm not that experience in fixing computers.

I think i got a really bad virus that was raping my CPU and turning my computer into a remotely controlled robot. it kept overheating (never happens) and restarting randomly (sometimes happens) but I also got the blue screen of death for the first time using windows 7!!
Maybe there's a bug going around
There's definitely a bug going around. My friend's computer is totally fucked since April 3rd, and today mine just got an Ask.com toolbar that reinstalls itself every time I remove it. My Live One Care found some malicious stuff in my cache and deleted it, but Malwarebites isn't finding anything. Even the Shroomery was infected on April first. I still can't get rid of this damn toolbar..
I just installed Noscript about 20 minutes ago, but I still can't really find out how to work it. I have Shroomery and mangafox.com fully allowed, but I think that may not be wise.
So frustrating.
I would try IObit Uninstaller to get ride of that toolbar nonsense. http://www.iobit.com/advanceduninstaller.html
You can spend days and days attempting to fix viruses, malware and shitware, and still not be able to know for sure that the bad stuff has been completely removed from the machine. If you have your important data/pictures/music/trash backed up, I would just wipe the hard drive and reinstall the operating system.
