3. Omphalotus nidiformis

I never would have guessed Omphalotus for the third. They do look pretty similar to oysters.

That would have been a rough night

  I reckon, I wonder if what comes out of you when you eat them is bioluminescent like the mushrooms.

I thought it was an edible oyster for the third one. Thank goodness for forums like these.

Yes subs!!!

You should have seen the look on our faces when we saw the patch after doing weeks worth of relentless researching.

It could be an oyster, looks more like Omphalotus to me though.  Maybe don't give up hope and wait to see what a T.I. says about it.

The main reason I think it's that and not oysters is the darkish colouring in the center of the caps and I know Omphalotus are fruiting now, whereas I don't think we get oysters untill later in the year.

Can anyone confirm these ones please? Do any of them look not sub like?

The only one I wouldn't confidently call a P. subaeruginosa is the second one in on the top in that second pic.  It probably is, it's not very clear in that shot though.

Nice subs - well done mate, patch should rejuvenate after some more rain - enjoy the season.

Thanks man. I never knew mushroom hunting would be so fun and exciting. I've learnt so much about mushrooms on this website.
