found in poo

Hey, i found this cutie in a cowpie in middle GA...
Cap is about 1.5" across..Stem was at least twice as long as you see, but it broke off so i just left the rest of it in the poo. Spore print is black, gills look a dark brown/black. It was all alone....

It's some type of Panaeolus, thats for sure. It's got those white fringed gills that are common to subbs. Unfortunately the sun got to them before you did and the caps faded out. It's really hard to ID them once that happens.
I'm going to you out on a limb here and say that *COULD* be active. Not saying it is, not saying it isn't. The gills just look right. You'd need a lot more than just that one for effects though... They're very weak. See if you can find some more, hopefuly you can get them before the sun fades them and post more pics

Looks like subbalteatus to me.

I noticed you moved the sporeprint when printing it. I see two separate images.

I forgot my camera, otherwise i was gonna take some of them in their natural habitat. I am pretty sure it was a Pan subb (WAS, because i found it all decomposed with little worms squirming around like, "where did our home go?" this morning) but i wasn't about to just eat it, since there was only one anyway. Also i wanted to post it to see what you guys thought.
Hopefully i'll find some fresher ones next time, and hopefully i'll remember my camera!

Yeah, that was an accident...someone cleared the table and apparently that someone has an alternate definition for "Please do not disturb....spore printing..."
what can you do?
