Ive read that it takes 12 to 36 hrs after a rain for shrooms to fruit but i cannot find any info about a timeframe after a drought....Seems like the mycellium wouldnt be abel to stay alive after 2 months of drought...I shure hope i am wrong

I generally allow about a half week for mushrooms to grow after rains. Since most hunting is on a weekend, I find the best results after a Tuesday or Wednesday rain. Of course, YMMV.

PS - From the forum rules above:
Quote:

As a general rule of thumb, if it has rained within the last 2-3 days, and the temperatures are correct for the type of mushroom you're looking for, then *yes* it is possible that the mushroom you are looking for is growing.

This thread really tries to skate the edge of:

We are not weather men or psychics, do not ask if the current weather is "good for shrooms." These threads are flat out annoying, and will be locked. This information can easily be found with a little bit of research.

And with that, I'll lock this thread and leave this information here.

Good luck with your forays, folks!

Happy mushrooming!
