umm set it on the lowest setting it has temp wise. id say maybe nothing above 150(f) and crack the door a lil bit,not too much so it looses heat. i wouldnt recommend it, just use a fan or food dehydrator man. GL

I wouldn't, it's too hot and would cook your mushrooms. You want to remove the water from them in a much more delicate fashion. If you can, I HIGHLY recommend a food dehydrator. That is the best buy I've made for this hobby by far. $40 at Walmart.

Ok well the temp right now is between 90 and 100 degrees and that's not even the lowest setting so that sounds pretty good to me, am I wrong?

I live in Colorado where it's different every 10 minutes haha. It seems to be working pretty well actually. I put a cap in there about 2 hours ago and it's getting there, it's slow but getting there.

Good god. That was what Professor Fanaticus recommended back in the day. You can do it with the oven on the lowest setting but you'll lose some of the alkaloids. Bottom line is yes, it'll work; but you can do better.

A toaster oven is way too hot. And if 2 hours of drying is too slow for you, you just need to stop now. You just waited 6 weeks or more, what's 24 hours for proper drying?

Its not that its too hot it just stays in there for too long. a normal food dehydrator has temps between 130-150 or 160 degrees. but as stated above from me and others, there are better options out there man.
