The fruits of my labor:

Such a monumental moment for me. I've failed to reach this point for so long now, I thought I may never achieve it at all. Turns out I just had bunk spores because I was being a cheap-ass. Still, it was worth it if only to force me to study harder. I now own and read the quintessential Stamets books, I have nearly memorized every line the Let's Grow Mushrooms videos, and I've exhausted hundreds of posts here and abroad for every bit of info I could get. I digress, here we go:
First pins emerge

I have never reached the fruiting stage in any attempt before this. Despite everything I've researched, I was still completely unprepared for how fast these things popped up.

Here's right after harvest. This was two half-pint cakes worth - first flush

This poor bastard got a red ass beat down with an ugly stick.

Now for the sad part. Like I said, I've never reached the fruiting stage before, and even though I KNEW what to do from research, I have had no actual experience doing it so I'm a little curious to know what the hell happened.
There are 11 cakes in that SGFC. It took twelve days for two of them to reach a point of harvest (and barely at that.) Two more had a couple large mushrooms that opened up while I was at work the next day and spored so hard it looked like they shit themselves. Purple skidmarks everywhere! There were a number of much smaller fruits in the cluster, but I went ahead and picked both cakes clean and dunked em for flush 2.
As for the other SEVEN cakes... well there are a couple medium sized stubbies, one for each of three cakes, one with a nice cluster of small pins, and the rest just have one or two pins. All of these appear to have stalled. They haven't changed in days.
From what my two redundant (yet fairly cheap) hygrometers tell me, humidity is somewhere between 80 and 90. Temperature fluctuates between 72-75F.
I fan and mist regularly, usually every four hours.
Based on what I've read, it seems like I have too much CO2 and/or not enough water/humidity. Hence the Quasimodo mushy pictured above.
Growth has been severely staggered. I'm gonna chalk this up to my own inexperience, I'm happy with getting something, now I need to work on making it better. If anyone has any advice or thoughts, I'm open ears, but I'm really just excited to finally post my first 'successful' grow here. Thanks for reading!

That is some mighty coarse vermiculite you've got there (you can always grind it some more if you want). You sure your shotgun fruiting chamber is set up correctly? Is it raised off the surface it's resting on so that air can get in from the bottom? Are you being sure to fan and mist it sufficiently once you get it open?
I bet your second flush will turn out a bit prettier than this one. Just keep doing what you're doing!

Way to go! And welcome to the shroomery! Enjoying the fruits of your labor is a great feeling. You have fine workmanship.

Yes, the FC is perched upon 5 stubby 1/2 pint jars, which are on a a coffee table about a foot off the ground. I have a 6500K light on 12/12 cycle as well.
I did realize how incredibly coarse that verm actually is. I've always bought the same stuff because I could never find anything else. It never even occurred to me there were other grades of it until just recently. You can imagine my confusion when I see these perfectly crusted cakes here, it's like watching the food channel... Spring has brought a new brand of verm to all the local hardware stores here (used to have to go to a specialty garden center for the stuff I've been getting), and this stuff is MUCH finer. I think that alone will do wonders for my next batch of cakes, which should be ready to birth in about two weeks.
I definitely give it the business when I mist. Sometimes I wonder if it's too much, but I don't have any standing water when I'm done. Just a layer of fine droplets all over everything.

Run your coarse vermiculite through an old blender and create much finer textured vermiculite.

Amazing work my friend! It's been a long time coming. We are all going to need to see some more pictures and details of things you have learned throughout the process.
