As long as Mrs. human doesn't mind you're all good.
I just paid nearly that amount for 4 L. fricii. Waiting for the soil to dry so I can pot them up.

@karode13: My god those are some beautiful cacti karode, super nice. I love the sharper looking ribs on that non-pc pachanoi, and the A asterias superkabuto is amazing, you've had that for a while haven't you?

@ CT : The trich's are still rocking on and look so healthy. I can still remember seeing pics of that room when you first started growing and now you must have trouble moving in there.
@ karode13 : Great pics. The Astrophytum asterias Superkabuto is absolutely stunning they are very high on my want list. Did you have many cacti set seed this year?
Cheers Got

awesome cacti in this thread. ever since trying san pedro in peru ive wanted to get one or two going, but its been slooow. here's a youngling peruvian torch. it's a bit over a year old and has gone through some rought times, falling on the floor etc. it's barely rooted but still seems to be hanging in there. any care tips? its on the window sill but doesnt get much if at all direct sun light yet. watering once or twice a week as summer approaches here in the north.

and that's my only other cactus. anyone know the species?

Whats the soil mix like for your peruvian? A very open mix will help it develop some good roots rather than hanging on with what it has.
Your other cactus is a Cereus sp. cristate/monstrose

it's store-bought 'cactus soil'. i'll probably repot it into a small ceramic pot and give it a new soil. is it a good idea to to add either some verm or coir or both to make it more fluffy?

Coir or verm will add moisture retention, what you is need an inert additive to open the soil up more such as grit, coarse sand, perlite etc. I prefer plastic pots over ceramic, not least due to cost and weight but that will depend on your growing conditions.
