ibogaine isn't the type of drug you use for recreational purposes. It's your last ditch effort for kicking an opiate addiction mainly. I hear that it's miserable and not at all comforting, but it sure does wake you up to reality.

I did use the search but the most recent thread is 3 months ago and maybe that people have done it since then. And I saw Chinacats thread from 5 years ago so yeah... Don't jump to conclusions.
And I know its not a recreational drug, Its a very long, intense, emotional, painful, eye opening, nauseating substance. Every report I have read though came out with a positive outcome in the long run. I am only 19 so I am nowhere close to doing it even though I have very easy access to it. Maybe somewhere far down the road I will do it but thats not for me to know yet.

Saw a documentary with this dude who was a drug dealer for ibogaine-his only purpose-help people quit a heroin withdrawal.
He's in prison now..........

"drug dealer for ibogaine"... I do not know of anyone in the US who sells Ibogaine. There are providers helping drug addicts by administering treatments using Ibogaine. Is that what you mean? Quite the opposite of "drug dealer". The goal is to end drug addiction. They are very brave souls who risk their lives to help people in desperate need.
To date, nobody has been charged with a drug offense related to Ibogaine. Dimitri Mugianis was arrested after trying to charge a guy $6000 (way too much!) in Seattle in May of 2011. He was interrogated for a few hours and released. He was never charged. The feds recently returned his passport. A person who wanted something for nothing tried to extort him. He refused to negotiate, so the lady went to the cops and set him up. It is a long story. The cops found a drug addict, the drug addict arranged for Dimitri to fly all the way across the country. And so on.
He is the person you are talking about.

I have an uncle who stayed over at our house to do Iboga to kick opiate addiction, we live in Costa Rica and there are several, maybe 2, or 3 places/people who do this stuff here, he obtained a quite generous bag of ground bark. My curiosity got hold the better of me (Don't get me wrong didn't do it on a whim just for shits, had been considering trying it to kick several of my own addictions) Tanish-brown in color bitter like sour dirt. I took a bit less than 200 mg I believe it was.. Maybe less but I remember at the time it was a sliver of what my Uncle was taking, anyway what I remember getting out of it was feeling sort of..indifferent in a way, things just didn't matter to me, not in a bad way nor a good way I was just kind of turned off to desire, It made me feel kind of 'heavy' for a few days, as if I had been smoking ganja all day when I hadn't, I don't know if it was placebo because I was thinking about what the Iboga COULD be doing, but I feel like it made me more thoughtful about my routine and habits. Placebo or not, I COULD feel slight subtle 'different' feeling that I couldn't quite put my finger on.. If you do enough research into it, Iboga has actually been used for a wide range of things including treating acne. I can say that I did feel 'different' for an extended time period after taking it, I can see how it could be "psychedelic" even if just receiving a light blow of it, I can imagine in higher doses how the bodily high could become too overwhelming to move at all, and how it interferes with psychological/physical processes but in NO way would I dose higher for recreational doses, nor did any part of the lite experience I had be considered recreational.

Yes yes yes! I do not think that was placebo effect, even though you took a very small amount. Everyone naturally has expectations based on their prior drug experiences. It is so difficult to explain to people because it is not like anything else. Highly self reflective. When it is taken in quantity, it is so reflective that it can be emotionally painful. I try to say that it made me want to be a better person. It can be a subtle feeling, but the outcome quantified over time is a complete change in habits and lifestyle. Pretty cool.
I hope your uncle is doing well.

Hes doing much better, Hes taken it several times and we see change in him still everyday, he seemed resistant to what he was being presented at the time in terms of memories and whatnot, I can only begin to imagine what it must have been like for him though.

I guess you're talking about Dimitri Mugianis. That's unfortunate that he is in prison for helping people. What a twisted world we live in.
Iboga is probably something the majority of addicts in the United States need. I just checked and it seems he was arrested in 2011. What a shame.
