Sterilise vermiculite or pasteurise?

Gonna use an inch layer on top of 2 straw substrates to see if there is a difference in yield.

vermiculite isnt really bacteria prone. Putting on a bakling sheet at 170 should do it, but that if you give a shit. Is this gonna be a dry layer, or a wet casing layer?

microwaving verm until its steaming seams to work as well. It is suggested, if the bag had been open for a long time

ok I microwaved for 5 minutes after pasteruising for 20 min should be fine...and its going to be a wet casing layer.

pastuerize for 2 hours @ 160*

anything can harbour contams.
i stick to the safe side of things so im not wasting my time.
