Transcending duality
    #1610839 - 06/05/03 10:21 AM (14 years, 21 days ago)

My mind grows weary. I have not found a way to approach this that is not dualistic itself.

I'm beginning to think that duality is a part of the human condition that cannot be transcended, except perhaps in death.

The very idea 'transcending duality' is dualistic...

That's the conclusion I came to as well.

But you know... there are ways of dieing without 'clinically' being dead. All it takes is the ego's death/rebirth. It's like shedding your skin, yo. Listen to the snake.

All parts of the human condition are transcendable even while alive.

not sure if this is on topic but..

I've wondered if we can only get so far in our minds
I've had to admit to myself that as powerful as I want my mind to be, I am still my environment's bitch, and it dictates me.

that's why i continue to be so blown away whenever I go to a big concert.

same way around also, environment is mind's bitch. Without time and space there is no mind, without the mind there is no time or space. Time is the motion of the mind. Mind can think only in terms of "before", "now" and "after" or past, present, and future. That means anything we perceive, think, or know is due to the association with the mind: and mind can perform its function only in terms of space and time.

And the brain is made of physical matter.

What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know,
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection,
Is it all you want it to be?
