hello, I bought these phoenix tail mushrooms the other day and did a clone of one. I was told the scientific name for these shrooms is Pleurotus sajor-caju, but i've also heard them refered to as Pleurotus pulmonarius. Is Pleurotus pulmonarius the same as pleurotus sajor-caju? or is there a difference.
Quote: Pleurotus pulmonarius has been called by several other names, including P. sapidus and P. sajor-caju. The latter name is often used for cultivated strains. See Ohira (1979) for report of spore-deficient mutant. A classic case of name misuse may be found by May et al. (1988).
