-------------------- You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. What one person receives without working for another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for that my dear friend is the beginning of the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it. ~ Adrian Rogers

Nice! Sounds like an idea to me. I see no need to pay 3x more than anyone else just to get shafted. They should pay us!

The question is why was USA paying more anyway? Were they trying to buy more rights? I disbelive that ther rest of the world forced USA to pay so much.

They (we) will! UN will now help in Iraq to clean the shit & chaos that was caused by intervention. So your corporations won't have many problems in exploiting them.
And another thing about France. It's probably true that their motive was only to get more power, but they came out of this diplomatic conflict as a winner. It's funny that some still dare to spit shit on french even if it's now cristally clear that they were right to not believe USA about the reasons for Iraq war. They just disbelieved the lies that were told in UN. Who should ask who for excuse?

ya HAHA
the states has been avoiding paying their UN dues for YEARS thats one of the ways they get their way, everyones waithing for them to pay!!!
and the cool thing about france and the UN is while america clearly went into Iraq for their own profit, france will be leading a "peace keeping" mission to the congo, and heres the funny thing about that, why wouldnt america be all over this issue??
Because american companys have been getting rich off the black market dimond trade that is causes most of the killings etc etc
ya ha fucking ha

Sure, noone forced us. UN dues have been based on ability to pay. So we pay 3x for the same power and rights.
I don't believe that France is fundamentaly much different than us. The difference lies in the fact that they have a diffent hand to play. They have not the political, economic, or millitary power to pull strings. But I have no doubt that they have the desire to be able to pull those strings. France was given a seat they didn't earn in the first place just to make them feel better about themselvs.

Yeah, france wouldn't go into a peacekeeping mission just to help out they'd need something out of it.....not like america who liberates people out of the goodness of thier hearts.

I didn't say that America didn't expect something in return. If you think France did anything out of the kindness of thier heart you are crazy. If they aren't gaining materialy you can be sure they are gaining politicaly. My guess is that they are politicaly motivated right now. They are after all making a power play against America in the UN right now. That is plain to see.

Exactly. When has any country EVER done something for another country without expecting something in return? If anyone can give me any examples, I'd love to hear them.

I don't know about governments of countries and it is not the job of government to give charity, but in absolut dollars the US by far outgives anyone else as it should be being by far the richest nation.

If Bush keeps up his irresponsible spending habits, we may not be rich for very long.
