Still an addict
    #1604269 - 06/03/03 12:55 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

I think it's getting too much. Hardly a day goes by when I don't do some oxycontin, or whatever other hard drug I have lying around. All my friends (who really stopped hanging around me when I got into drugs) are telling me how bad I am. I don't know, maybe I'm not realll a junkie, they just say I am? Anyways I'm off now. Gonna get high. Maybe a few lines of K

Stay clean for abit, its possible. Only smoke weed and do 'soft' drugs for like a week and then the week after that do less and then less. It works pretty good

Try to be sober a whole day on the 2nd week atleast, helps out alot...try to stop before it gets real outta hand, you might or might not be an addict now but either way it'll get worse if you dont try and stop it now...

Everyday you wake up and choose to do drugs. Choose not to if you want.

bared and broken.

staring up a fix.

just wait to imagine.

a better day.

sorry man it is never good to hear about hooked. i hate hooked, i have problems coping with my addiction to nicotine, i just feel a bit weaker knowing i am addicted.

Coming from a multi-drug addict, i say good luck. I hope you are one of those people who can decide to get off these "hard drugs" and stay off them. I've quit all different kinds of drugs at different times, and i started them up again, and quit them again. Its an endless cycle for me. I can't seem to really quit. Each time, quiting is a little harder. I know you've heard this a million times, but be careful about this shit. It can and will get you. Oxycontin addiction can be pretty shitty, and very expensive to keep up (if you're buying them on the streets). Good luck with all of this, and keep us posted.

Yeah, addiction can definately sneak up on you,but I'm sure plenty of people are aware they have an addiction, they just try to hide it because of the way society treats drug addicts.

I'm addicted to Ativan right now and I'm fully aware of it. I'm not in denial,I just choose not to quit because I feel like my life is better on Ativan than off.At least it keeps the opiate cravings down. Somewhere along the line denial started to mean a lack of desire to quit instead of lack of insight. This is wrong.

Unless you are forced to stop.

My friend had no idea he was addicted to his home grown pod putty until he ran out. It was a nasty wake up call. Thank god for Xanax.

I think it is probably almost impossible to quit until it stops being 'fun' or no longer has a place in your life.. I used to do K but eventually got to the stage where I was thinking "I hate this, why am I even doing it??" Then I stopped doing E because I had to concentrate on uni and never went back. I smoke the occasional bit of weed, and do shrooms about once every couple of months, and I don't feel dependant on any of that stuff any more.

It's no good saying you're going to go back. either you want to do it or you want to stop. But until the day comes when stopping is easier than carrying on, you are addicted. (IMHO)

Good Luck

'Cause, even if you do have the willpower to ride out the physical withdrawal and the cravings, you still have to, well, ride out the physical withdrawal and the cravings.
