It should be fine, but let us know if you have any issues!
Thanks,
Reggie

Woooo! We did it! I just created my ATCC account, waiting on IGG to transfer the funds to my account via ACH transfer, which might take up to 15 days per their policy.
I'll continue to update this thread, and I'll work out the details of getting each culture where it has to go!!!!
THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!!

So I emailed IGG - since I was under the impression that once funding was met the campaign ended, this is not the case! The way it works is it runs until the set date, and then after 15 days funds are transferred to my bank account.
I have the option to send all of the funds raised by Paypal to a Paypal account, so I set one up today but am waiting for the confirmation deposits to hit the account.
I get paid monthly on the 1st, so if this money hasn't hit my account by then I'll just use my own funds to purchase the culture to expedite the process as it is already going to take awhile to get the culture from ATCC.
I'll be sending Lipa a boatload of padded envelopes. If anyone has the hookup on glass petri dishes, please me!
Thanks for the patience, and the overwhelming support!

Someone had suggested that the culture eating the petri might be an issue, and I blindly followed without actually thinking it through. We'll be using regular petris for this.
Thanks,
Reggie

Some people complain about Facebook, but I like it - that's where the people are. Within 2 days of my facebook posts, it went from $220 to $850.
The success of this campaign has led to another attempt to try the same thing - this time with a black reishi. http://www.gofundme.com/h373k4
Looks like people are more interested in eating plastic than they are in black reishi though.
We can probably thank Paul Stamets for the high level of interest in mycoremediation.

Wow, this really took off. I remember when I first mentioned the ATCC culture almost two years ago. I'm pleasantly surprised to see someone made it happen and put this together.
I can't wait to see peoples experiences with this culture.

I had no idea someone had already found it. I tracked down the black reishi (G.formosanum) on ATCC a few months ago but wasn't sure if it would work. Then I noticed people were looking for this and I knew ATCC would be a good place to find rare and unusual cultures so I linked it to see if people would be interested. They were quite a bit
