What a wonderful catch, and that for a $5 ticket.
I wish I had an M1911, damn restrictive gun laws here

you can build exactly what you want in that range and probably still have cash left over... best kept secret in the industry. foster makes the recievers for caspian, caspian was one of the top names in 1911 pistols they've since restructured and sell parts

I'm curious Pris, what do you think about the Les Baer?
Or should I build my own? It would be fun, but I fell in love with the Les Baer I shot a few months ago. I built my own AR-15 a few years ago, which was pretty easy, but I've never built a 1911. I'm just concerned that I won't be able to produce the same level of quality and accuracy as what I'm looking for.
this reminds me of The Fight Club!

Took my wife to the range toady and put 50 rounds through the new toy

It performed wonderfully and my wife handled it like a champ. she says im not allowed to sell it. The action was smooth and easy. no jams. the entire weapon is tight and feels great in the hand. They go for about $600, might find one for a little less. In my opinion, this is a good value. its put together quite nicely. if you can afford the extra $250-300, i recommend this gun over an RIA for a beginner. If you already have a budget 1911, and you want something bad-ass, this gun will disappoint you. Spend another 300 or more, or build one if you're brave enough. had an uncle who thought he knew everything and built himself an overpriced piece of shit that jammed once or twice per magazine.

Ugh, the M&P. There are really only 3 handguns I really hate with a passion. Glocks are 1, Walther P99's are 2 and S&W M&P's are 3rd.
But to each their own

typically a superb firearm in fit, finish and accuracy but way too heavy on the price tag

dont doubt yourself for a minute. for the $1700 you could build 2 pistols of the same quality, or as the case may be, have the smithing tools to build for others. you have the option of choosing every detail that goes into it and there's really not much to making it accurate. half your work in this will be reading, the other half will be doing. never doubt your ability to do anything
other than birthing babies, you'd probably suck at that

5 bucks for a handgun? Great deal. Heard the remington is decent, wouldn't buy one, but wouldn't refuse a $5 prize. After all, it's a 1911.
