Looks like Inocybe, but if it was really growing from a tree maybe its a Pholiota.  Are you sure about that spore print color?

If the spore print is dark purple brown and its growing on wood, that would point in the direction of Hypholoma.  Not sure that is what you have though.  Inski would know.

Purple does seem a stretch considering the color of the mature gills, but anything is possible. Looks rather like Agrocybe or Inocybe like Allen said.

I don't see any "purple" bruising on the fruit body and I can't make out what colour the spore print is, sorry, it's impossible to identify this collection with the images and information provided, don't eat it!!
