Why are some maturing faster than others?

My owl has some plain ol brf cakes going, and some of the fruits are fully matured while someothers are still half size? They're not aborts, but some seem to be growing faster than others.. Is there a way to make them grow evenly? Or is it just part of nature?

Hmm, I haven't gotten into agar yet. Not sure if I even will.

DisGqBoi; My question wasn't why one is big and one is small, I wanted to know why some opened up before others.
