Ive never seen it live past december up here"SW PA" It is a very fast growing plant though, its about 4feet in my habitats and growing quick.I always take a machete with me and it slices right through those stalks, makes it alot easier to search.

I checked about a hundred debris piles yesterday, and a whole lot of knotweed, and found not a single one. Then I went closer to the stream banks and found 4 patches right out in the open growing from sandy soil. The above ground debris must fruit later in the season. Pan cincts are starting to fruit in lawns.

That's what I've been sayin. Counterintuitive, because those areas seem to dry out too fast, but the sand stays wet underneath. I think early season air temps are too low without some direct heating. I just found some up the bank and into the forest today for the first time this year.
On another topic... My paper collection bag is now coated with spores, can I cut it up and bury the strips in mulch to get some new domestic patches. If not, how can I put them to use. Don't want to toss them.

Thursday night's take:

Found a really nice patch with some super gregarious residents. It literally took 20 minutes with scissors to cut away all the grass and vines so I could get good pics and not miss anything:

They were in deep ground cover, but just at the margin where the grass and beach meet.
Today, this was the only non-ovoid I saw. I've seen a few of them over the last week:

Cyans season in the uk is around late autumn early winter time . Have a read of this thread http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/11584673/fpart/17/vc/1 When you pick them take some pics and post a ID post and someone will confirm for you .Do a bit reach now ready for the coming season . Lib caps will be out first and are easy to find in the UK if you put the effort in . Good luck

was wondering how much luck people have had finding these south of SF in cali? i have been checking landscaped woodchip beds to no avail. also is there a preferred type of woodchip they like? most of the stuff around here is eucalyptus chips, probably not good for voids.

I have a few questions especially for koods.
These three are what I found yesterday. Any Idea what these are?

Up close print color

Here is where they were found.

Do these areas look promising?

Thanks all.
A few questions on hunting:
Are they easy to spot or do you have to dig around?

I've been checking all the likely spots for the last week and so far nothing. I'm guessing it might be a little cold here still. Hopefully persistence pays off and I get lucky soon. Nice finds everyone.

So, they are agrocybes?
Doesn't the print color look purplish?
I'm not arguing with the experts. Didn't think they were active because of the non-bruising.
Oh well....back to the streams.

well, I'm no expert, just an amateur. I'd call that brown, but like I said, I'm an amateur. It's definately not an ovoideocystidiata, also, you weren't supposed to look!

I've been searching about in local streams and rivers for a bit now but I'm wondering has anyone ever heard of ovoids in northern ohio? I'm hoping I don't have to take a trip south.
