Other mushrooms in Outdioor patches?
    #1600026 - 06/02/03 01:34 AM (13 years, 9 months ago)

Alright, so my galpal had made 3 outdoor patches a month ago, 2 weeks ago temps dropped to around 0C and she spread some more colonized material overtop of the dung on top and they reestablished themselves. Today she checked, and low and behold was a collection of weird mushrooms...blueish green caps, split stems, some without caps, some 8" stems with loops and folds in them...Colonized sub. was EQ... Heres some pics of a mushroom that was picked there.

Tommorow she'll make "humidity tents" overtop of them and maybe find some open caps....she'll print as soon as possible, but is it possible that this is a non psilocybe species...just undeveloped...?

No, thats the puzzling thing...no bruising. There is a brown dot at the top of the cap...of the one in the pic at least aswell.

Is it possible to post some more detailed/sharper pictures? Also, you could try identifying the species yourself using a (online) guide.

Usually, the absence of blue bruising indicates very low (perhaps zero) psilo content. However, don't get carried away if they DO bruise nice and blue, 'cause there are dangerously poisonous species that also bruise blue. Be 100% percent sure in the identification before you taste them, and even them, consider 'nibbling' them before you take a full dose.

I always nibble the shrooms I grow..even indoors where I'm 100% sure its the right mushroom....just cause if for some reason there was some kind of contam in them...for 1 I'd rather take a smaller dose of it....2 I would rather it be me that takes the bullet than a friend

Well, i meant to go out today, but i guess itll be tommorow or wednesday, ill take some prints and hopefully theyve developed. Disappointing that the mushrooms that are supposed to be growing..arnt...

How would another species get in patches which are covered with garbage bags and then with sand, and then debris!...and has at least a 6" sub.?
