Just did a medium intensity run, maybe 35 minutes with some good hill sprints.

(I am living by a park built on a hill, so now i've got all these awesome short hill sprints to do, 2 blocks away. Score.)

Then came home and did some pushups/rows and seated presses + some DL's.

Fairly spent - still Deadlifted 3x345lbs final set - definitely need to shoot for a new 1RM soon.

I could see 375#'s being in the realm of possibility.

today at work I was moving a spool of a 1000ft of MC cable and the spool caught a drywall screw that ended up in my palm.  I took it out and it started bleeding and it kinda hurts now but I refuse to miss this workout.  The show must go on!!

Got 250 lbs squat for reps, missed 260 after. Probably would have got it if I went straight for that.

That sucks man, Youve got a good excuse though, Imjust a drug addict... I stopped using needles the other day, got sick of having swiss cheese veins, plus its no longer long sleeve weather... I cleared some brush/fallen trees yesterday and my veins were pissed.  Both arms were killing me the whole time.  I kept checking for blood spots to start appering from blowing the thing out...
Once my veins are all better im in it to win it. lol.  My buddy just got out of bootcamp and is all hot to trot with the pt.  I told him what was up and hes agreed to force me to get to they gym.  Hope to be back to my old routine by next week.
Oh, I got my food stamps finally.  After convincing the state that I need money for food to survive.  Full time college, no job, and they dont wanna help me out... No school, no job, and they will give you $250 a month no questions asked, wtf!?  Now I can afford to eat right, instead of the shitty processed stuff that I was able to afford...

Dude in so glad you're off the shit! Gotta give your veins time to heal, they're probably all hardened, maybe get into a doc and make sure you don't have a bacterial phlebitis. Try taking some ibuprofen or naproxen to help with the swelling, no aspirin cuz you'll thin your blood and it'll be harder to heal. Good job either way, you've done more good for your body than you know man!

the reason she has the "world record" for the 97 pound division is the 97 pound division is a pretty much unheard of division. females in the 105lb oly weightlifting division are lifting 200+ overhead.
brb creating my own lifting federation and holding the "world record" in every lift.
not that I'm dissing the girl, good for her, she's strong, but she's far from a world class lifter.

if you lift your heels while squating/deadlifting your doing something wrong.  The bar should be directly over your scapula, over your hips, over your ankles.  No way to lift your heels if youve got 225lbs+ directly over them.
I know ima get some shit for this but buy better shoes for lifting.  Flat soled.  Too many athletic shoes have a huge drop from heel to toe.  It puts you off balance to start.
Check out mark rippletoe's guides to lifting.  He is not a genious, but he has managed to marked simple lifting technique to the world... He is all over youtube.  Lifting is all about bar path.  If your bar path is not vertical your wasting energy moving it in and out....

I'm on the market for a new pair of shoes.

I have no budget and am willing to spend $$ on a good pair.

adidas Adi Power Weight Lift - Men's

Asics

Any recommendations or input on my current selections ?

After this review From here he talks of only wearing Adi Power for squats and it's benefits.
I want a make of shoe to wear at all times during training in the gym, my training isn't all squats so I'm not inclined to buy the shoe even though he speaks highly of them.
I do a bit of skipping too so I'm leaning towards an Asics shoe and it's flat sole which would benefit squats.

Thanks

3 excellent selections.  I have had the bottom pair for 9 months and I am going to be getting the top pair in a few weeks.  I wear them at all times, and I just blew one of the seems out.  If you do more running/cardio the bottom pair are going to be better.  Vibram is going to make a far superior product than addidas.  I have seen the adipure and another kind with only 4 toe slots at eastbay and they seem cheap and shitty compared to the vibram5's.

I want to get a pair of vivobarefoot running sandles too.  They look like something a warrior would wear into battle.  lol
If I get to training hard this summer I am going to enter in a marathon or half.  I will be getting a pair of newtons for that kind of distance.  Newton has been on top of the running shoe game for a long time and will be.

I personally use the Adipure and love them. They're a glove shoe, little extra padding for more impact training, and cheap. They fit fucking amazing, and I'm a size 13(US) and have kinda wider foot balls. I'd recommend them, as I have tried them and noticed huge differences in lifts, including bench, and seated lifts. Great feel, good colors, no ratchets or straps, just a neoprene type upper than holds your foot perfect.

I have Vivobarefoot Neo's and Vibram Five Fingers. I don't care for the Vibrams though, I have wonky toes so no sizes really fit me right.

I like the way the Addipures look but I assume they won't fit me right either.

if money is no oject, get a heeled/oly shoe for squatting/overhead/oly lifting, a flat soled shoe for deadlifting, and some sort of weird-looking toe-shoe for when what you wear on your feel is less important than looking interesting/edgy.
Do-Wins are a good choice for an oly shoe, they'll do the job just as well as more expensive shoes, but don't look quite so cool.
Converse Chucks, or similar, are good for deadlifting. And skipping.
As for the novelty toe shoes, I hear these are the lastest must-have for gym attention whores.

I do overheads, and rack work. I don't want to buy 2-4 shoes for different occasions. Money isn't an issue to spend on one set of shoes so I wanted to buy a pair that aren't specifically catered for one exercise.

Adipowers are recommended by many, I'm currently deadlifting in Nike runners so I'd assume even though AdiPowers aren't a flat sole shoe recommended for deadlifts that they will still be sufficient and a better choice than my current shoe?

Flat-footed for deadlifts, of course. For squats I stand w/something underneath my heels (like 1/2 inch elevated).

why?
the anatomy gets all fucked up when you do that... I guess it would give you extra leverage.  But it decreases the distance the bar moves, meaning less work meaning less strength, but more weight on the bar.  Also when not flat footed having a straight bar path is a improbable.  Your trunk has to push forward to allow your shoulders/bar to be balanced.  The bar path would look like a parenthesis )instead of vertical...in the second video he talks about lifting the chest vs. hip drive.  1:25 is aprefect examle of how rased heels fuck up squats.  he is off balance without the bar.  Add a few hundred pounds to that and you start using all kinds of muscles besides your legs.  @ 3:30 if you look closely he is pushing forward to center his balance then up to lift the bar.  and it gets worse from there.  Rippletoe keeps telling him looks great but wtf, on a few of the lifts after that his back looks all screwed up.  not keeping tension through his lumbar...

I really don't know a lot about this stuff.  I will soon.  I am going to school for Kinesiology.  Havent gotten into the higher level classes.  My intrest in the feild was sparked at the gym.  I see people lifting all inefficiently.  I may not be any better but I have an eye for it.

nice kicks champ!  I knew you'd join the club.

Ya'll really think the adipure are nice?  to me they feel like a toy... I am going to stick to my vibrams.  Can not beat the exclusive heel cup they've got.
