Dennis Kucinich, a 2004 democratic presidental canidate said that he would "issue an executive order supporting the use of medical marijuana"

Its about time someone tried to appeal to us druggies, hes got my vote.

Mmm... Have you ever heard of the Libertarian party? The Green party? Part of both platforms include the decriminalization (note: not legalzation) of many drugs, including marijuaina and other herbs/plants - ie. natural.

They've been around for a while, and unfortunately a few quacks (Pat Robertson getting the Libertarian party nod through blackmail and thug tactics in 2000, for example) have essentially ruined it for all.

RESEARCH. Then vote Nader.

Yeah I know about them, but I am talking major players here that stand somewhat of chance.

I doubt a Democrat will beable to beat bush in 2004, much less a Green or Libertrian canidate.

(as unfortante as it is)

I don't think he can legally do that. A president can't issue an executive order that overrides a federal statute. However, he could stop the federal interference with states such as California that have medical marijuana laws. Any, just for making that gesture, he's got my vote.

Presidential Decision Directives are issued overriding federal statute quite frequently, executive orders as well...look for a few and you'll notice that there are some listed as being signed but no infoarmation is available...legality is of no consequence to politicians...

Until it's challenged by the Supreme Court.

If he had removed the "medical" then he would have had my vote.

Nader isn't running in 2004 though, so I guess it's Libertarian for me.  :smirk:
