1.Build a glovebox or flowhood. 2.Make and sterilize some agar (pressure cooker required)
I've had great sucess with agar without a glovebox, flowhood or pressure cooker, they are not essential for cloning.

You're correct, they are not ESSENTIAL,however it is much better to be safe and build a glovebox and PC the agar,IMO. If you're gonna do something,do it right, don't "half ass" it,thats my motto. If you've had much success with agar that wasn't PC'd I think you better thank God,because I can't see how that would work too many times.
Don't make me laugh ! I make my own peroxidated PDYA agar and have only had 2 petris turn bad out of 40 but only cos I was using a dud thermometer.
Try READING the FAQ and experiment a little, you just might learn something.

Considering your a self confesed "new hand" you sure have alot of balls ! I've had a few beers etc so excuse me if I seem overly cocky but I'd be quite happy to send you a agar wedge of your choice if you like to prove my point that you don't need a autoclave/PC for agar work.
These are the only cultures on agar I have at the moment, take your pick.
P. Cubensis "Texan" Lentinula edodes (Shiitake, Xiang Gu ) Grifola frondosa (Hen of the Woods, Maitake, kumotake) Pleurotus ostreatus (Pearl Oyster) Agaricus bisporus (White Button) Cremini/Portobello (Chestnut Button) Flammulina velutipes (winter mushroom, velvet stem, velvet foot, enoki, enokitake)

No problem mate, all I'm saying is it works for me !
Peroxidated agar kills bacteria and fungal spores so you can do open air transfers with little worry of contams !
Hell, I've even left open petri dishes in the dirtiest room of my house and NOTHING grew on it ! It just shriveled up as it lost moisture !
PM me a addy and your choice of culture and I'll get it sent off to you.
Peace

ditto that, as long as you use sterile petris and peroxidated agar.
