Nope, here it is - I missed a line out.
Alpo, chalk this up as a subject, at least as it relates to the US, as something you have no fucking clue about.
*Yawn*. And don't tell me, you're the font of all wisdom on the subject? Just like you insisted I knew nothing about Iraq because I said they didn't have WMD right? Yep - you and pink were sure right about that wern't you
Oh, could you explain exactly where anything in the article says most people on stay on welfare their entire lives or even for extended periods of time?
btw, you did see this bit in your article didn't you?
The Massachusetts time limit restricts cash assistance to 24 months in a 60-month period for able-bodied recipients whose oldest child on welfare is at least two years old.
The have plenty of food, a decent place to live, most have large screen TV's, rented furniture (because they're to stupid to save any mony), they have money for booze, smokes, pot, their kids have toys scattered about the yard. And they DO NOT look for work until forced.
And you're not prejudiced one bit are you. I hear a lot of similar right-wing talk about asylum-seekers over in the UK at the moment. They all recieve enormous amounts of money and live lives of luxury too. Trouble is when anyone actually does any studies the reality is they live in poverty. Funny how reality is always different from right-wing fantasy.

It appears most of my post vanished. Alpo, your not gonna win this one. I deal with these people all the time. No-one is claiming they are all like that but the majority I have met do better than many who work. All the bullshit you want to write on this subject will not change the fact that here in the US, the majority on welfare do just fine.

First of all, props to Solo, that was a great post in which you explained the American welfare program to Al, but it seems, to no avail, he's missed the point.
Quote:
I don't think welfare is as much fun and as attractive to young women as you think.
I think that Africa is probably a smelly place. I think that all Italian chicks have excessive body hair. I think that all Brits are pasty and with bad teeth. But you know what, who the fuck cares what I think about, I don't actually KNOW these things.
Point is, you always revert to "I don't think you know..." or "I think the chief weapons inspector would know...." or "I think that (any situation that you have obviously never experienced, but proclaim to be an expert on) is much different than you think"
In fact in six out of the seven responses to Solo's posts you used an "I think" or "don't you think" phrase.
You wanna know what I think, I think you think too much, and never bother looking into that know part.
Quote:
This will simply drive wages down for all of us and benefit no-one but big business who can pay people slave-labour rates of pay.
Think about it like this. Try and keep up.
1. The government already pays welfare and social security recipients X many dollars in handouts. 2. There are many menial jobs could be formed in order for these welfare recipients to work for their handout. 3.If the government was paying wages, how would it affect the wages in the private sector?
Oh and how exactly would big business benefit if it was the government paying wages that would have otherwise been given away?
Which brings me to my next segment, I like to call it, "ALEX, the ASSumer". These are gems from our favorite argument dodger, yes you know him, you love him, take it away ALEX.......
The number who stay on it their entire lives is pretty small don't you think?
This will simply drive wages down for all of us and benefit no-one but big business who can pay people slave-labour rates of pay.
the number who bother collecting a pittance from welfare is probably even less.
The vast majority of people on welfare collect it for a short period of time and then go back into work. Wow, those are concrete premises to help strengthen the foundation of your stunning arguments.
Bah, you don't even deserve a response, its just fun to voice my opinion on how much of a nimrod you are.
Cheerio, old chap.
