Bush defends Poland
    #1598005 - 06/01/03 12:37 PM (13 years, 6 months ago)

Yahoo News

Quote:

Bush defended Poland against criticism of its war support. "I think it's
unfortunate that some of the countries in Europe will try to bully Poland for
standing up for what you think ? what they think is right."

Oh, that's so fucking funny. I wonder what France and Germany have to say about that statement.

Unfuckingbelievable!!!!!  Is that a real statement from Bush???  The biggest bully on the face of this earth is seriously accusing other countries of being bullies???  Holy shit, I can't believe the drastic steps the US has taken to ensure none of our allies ever disagree with us again.  I just heard on CNN that the US is not allowing any of our military officers over the rank of Colonel to attend the Paris Airshow going on right now, as continued revenge against France for suggesting that war with Iraq may not have been a necessity (as if he hasn't damaged our relationship with France enough already).  I've already lost my respect for Bush.  But now he's really starting to piss me off.
Thanks for the post Learyfan.

European countires that are still outside EU have to take lots of shit from USA & EU. USA is pressuring us to join the war coalition, allow importing of GM foods, against Kyotto & against ICC while the EU forces us to do the contrary. Both sides threat that we will have to accept the consequences if we do what other side demands.
For example Croatia is at the same time forced to extradict their citizens to war crime tribunal and to sign a treaty with USA that they would never extradict US citizens to ICC. Crazy.

I didn't see it, but I know that americans were quite misinformed about communism. The power of Soviet Union was greatly overestimated. They never really recovered from the WW2 and they were never able to take over the world.

yeah, and the fact that america was just as intent on taking over the world as the soviets.

for example, the korean war. it is commonly understood among americans (and many other western nationalties) that the soviets invaded south korea.

but that is actually complete bullshit, according to every korean I have talked to. The Koreans I know say that no one faction can be blamed for the war, and that the international superpowers (US and USSR) used korea as a mere battle ground for their ongoing conflict. Consequently, North Korea was colonized by the soviets, and South Korea by the Americans.

An interesting peice of news: a few days ago (june 13th) was the one-year anniversy of the murder of two korean children by an american soldier (in south korea). an armored vehicle ran over two junior high-school girls. on june 19th,after a review of the situation, american officers claimed that the GI's responsible for the deaths did nothing wrong, and that the dead girls were "asking for it". This was after the US military attempted to bribe the victims families.

subsequent event: on june 26th, 500 korean activists rallied outside the US military base at Euijeongbu(north of Seoul) two reporters covering the protest were beaten by american soldiers with clubs and then tied up with plastic wire.

shit....fuckin' terrorists eh?

Glad you liked the quote.

You must have really digged to find it though.

And yes, Bush really said that.

I'm just astounded by all the crap Bush is pulling, but even more astounded that so few Americans know about it, and/or that most could care less.  The greatest propaganda machine of all time is WORKING!

Ya, that's the really scary thing. You'd have thought Americans would have been outraged at the recent FCC ruling deregulating the media, basically allowing big companies to swallow up the little ones, ensuring there is no more independent voices on tv. When Larry King interviewed Dan Rather just a few days ago on CNN, he asked the following:

KING: Are you concerned about the new rule of the FCC, which Congress may overturn, relaxing the ownership conditions in broadcasting?

RATHER: Larry, you know, that's one of those where I probably should take five, just take the Fifth, because I work and am proud to do so (UNINTELLIGIBLE) of which CBS News is a part and the company has a policy about that. And so, I hope you'll understand when I tell on that one, I'm going to bail.

So CBS (understandably) isn't allowing their people to speak out publicly against media monopoly. No wonder the public hasn't been opposed to it - most people (except those who get their news from the "little" stations that will soon be controlled by the big stations) haven't been told why this is bad!!! Scary.
