The first picture looks more like a stereum. Can you see pores underneath?
Love the cup fungi photo. Its my favorite,
John

I believe It had pores underneath, I haven't ever taken a real intrest in those kind of shelf fungi before so it may very well something else. I am not familiar with them at all, there should have been a question mark after. I like those cup fungi too, they were really cool feeling.

Neat finds! Was the Ganoderma growing on conifer or hardwood? Ganoderma lucidum grows on hardwoods, Ganoderma tsugae grows on conifer and they look almost identical.

Ahh thats great to know, I havent done much research on those mushrooms yet, but i'm starting to delve into shelf fungi. To answer your question it was on a douglas fir, so conifer. So im guessing it would be closer to Ganoderma tsugae..

Yes, fry it up.

Hygrocybe, but not H. flavescens. That species has a flat cap and is completely yellow. This could be hygrocybe psittacina, or maybe closer to H. laeta.

Yeah, There is a log that is just full of them. Most of them are past their prime but I managed to find one complete sample.
