Florida Sucks!

It seems like every plant I wanna grow will have to be grown indoors
This sucks, Florida has too many temperture and different extreame forms of weather to grow anything. Like a month of cloudiness, then a month of strait sun, then wind, then rain, then drout, then cold (more like a week only) and most plants rather have a higher sea level
Damn it, I dont want to move to Georgia but this is just giving me another reason to consider it

Florida does suck indeed, but for different reasons imo. The whole state feels like a trailer park sometimes. I can't wait to move north.

So maybe it is a little hard to grow plants there, but it is in a lot of the world, at least you guys have a nice harvest of mushrooms in the warm weather.

True but still, thats just one plant, actully fungus. I actully enjoy growing, which I do but at the end of the life cycle they die, I'd like to grow a plant that ends up in me But I guess they dont like the tropical beaches and what not....
Any Floridians live near Ft Lauderdale?

Ya Florida blows red necks and wiggers, but it could be worse like frozen 9 months out of a year,or no sunshine at all like Seattle Washington. So do you want a little cheese to go with that wine, or perhaps a waa burger to go with those french crys. Eat your mushies and be greatful, peace out,18 year local, clw, beach.

How about instead of coming in and telling them they're all stupid, you point out where they're wrong and correct it.

There are afew but the main ones I care about right now are San Pedro and Opium Poppy. I know how much poppies love heat and water, especially when the leaves fall off the pods Pedro also loves uncontrollable, unpredicatable water....

yea poppies would be a problem in FL. put the cactus in a pot and if there is a hurricane or something just bring it in. cactus' are pretty hardy. like someone said tropicals will be your best bet...

Your best bet for poppies would be in the winter. It can be done. Just until recently I had some growing. They didn't fair all that well. But if I can keep them alive until maturity with temperatures in the 90's, then it can be done with more success in the winter.

Thats cool, I kinda wanted to mass grow it but I'll be happy with whatever lol I guess I can also grow it indoors for fall or something, too bad they dont like it here.

The trick to poppies is timing maturity for when hot weather hits. Remember they grow this stuff in afghanistan and other like countries, they plant it when it's cool and by the time the hot weather really sets in, it's a well mature plant and thrives.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking, it might still be possible to get them going indoors when they're young and I'm expecting a cold week or something hehe. This is gonna be a fun mission, I plan to grow about 40 plants... *edit* (atleast)
