My display settings are reemed, PLEASE help!

The OS and card: Win 98, with a Voodoo3 AGP 16mb.

The problem: I started up my computer, and just as it was going into windows, it popped up a "updating settings" (at least I think it was that...the little drum icon with the status bar). After it did that, and went into windows, my display settings were set on 16bit colour, and the screen area was 640x480.

I can change between 16 bit and 256bit colour, though the resolution cannot change at all. The only option is 640x480.

I booted in safe mode and ran scan disk, as well as a virus scanner, both showing no problems or viruses.

Does anybody have any idea what this is? I really need to fix this problem soon. I have a ton of summatives due on Monday. Great timing, eh? :P

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions you guys may give.

I would reintall my video drivers.

You need either this one:
3DFX Voodoo3 2000 16mb AGP Video Card
