well, this is a private matter. police need not be called unless necessary. (especially if dude knows OP has grown mushies) plus, words work better then force. if you can't logically explain to him how he's wrong, oh well... it's not his house.
he's got till a specific time to get lost. again, don't need the police.
and also, if OP'S step-dad is a cop... then first of all, wouldn't that be good enough reason for dude to listen? just say, "my step-dad is a cop and i will have to contact him about this weed use in my house", and if that doesn't work... then again, what choice does the dude have? patience wins all of this, cause then nothing needs to be elevated.
