BTW, the safeway brand artificial sweetner DID work really good, and I think it needs more experimentation. (1 packet per 2 pints of PF substrate)

hey seeing as you figured out what ingredients make it work, how would the safeway sweetener compare to using a 4% malt/water solution instead of water?

I have no idea. Ive never even gone beyond PF tek other than this experiment. But the experiment had much better results than my previous attemps.

Heh.....I used Giant brand sweetner, all it had was dextrose, maltodextrose, and asparatime. I think they got contaminated because I didnt sterilize the syringe after each jar. I'm gonna try it again though.

I was just at boston pizza, so I cleared out the tables supply of sweet and low, here are the ingredents (in order from greatest from least, I would expect):Dextrose,Sodium Cyclamate(34%),Silicon Dioxide. per packet: 2 calories, carbohydrate 0.5g

Have you tried replacing the water in the substrate with honey water? I've had success with the 9ers tek. I boil the rice in honey water. Then if sticky and moist, I add a little BRF or verm. to suck up the extra moisture. Then follow the tek like normal. With 4cc of mycelium water to each 1/2 pint, it took about week to 9 days for full colonization.

Sweet shit man! I am finally setting off, just got spores today, I am going for the honey water, but I'm afraid it will be contaminted, I'm going to bevery sterile when I go downstairs in an hour or so and prepare/sterilize/innoculate my first honey jar (big one).

I innoculated a few jars yesterday, straight PF tek with about a quarter pack S&L per jar. Am I screwed for sure? Should I chuck them or wait and see? Thanks.

wait Crazy Duck. Nobody has reason to believe s'n'l is bad, it just isn't necessarily what BZ used to get his results.

The reason i flipped about sweetnlow is becuase i thought that that is what shroomism used and his got contams, but he didnt and it was probly due to not sterilizing the needle between each innoculation. BTW..my mutants grew up nice and healthy. Got some GREAT BIG shrooms on my cake too. What exactly is WRONG with fat-asses? (besides soaking up water from the cake--which doesnt matter cuz i got it directly on perlite)

Ok, today, im going to inject some artificial sweetner/water into my casing (its already flushed) and see if my second flush is bigger than the first. My cake isnt really going through flushes..it just keeos pinning and fruiting.
