Awareness, Meditation & Sloppiness
    #1593358 - 05/30/03 03:39 PM (13 years, 11 months ago)

There are many posts here pertaining to meditation and awareness and spiritual practices. Writing a post is meditation-in-action. Why not take care in your use of words and grammar? Even if you are not the greatest with English, proof-reading your post even once will often make your message clearer. Seems there are those who are "too cool" to be bothered with their presentation and I may be seen as "anal" for even mentioning this.

Martial artists know that form precedes technique which begets power.

If you want Awareness then practice it in everything that you do. It is not a part-time gig that you do for 15 minutes at night with your eyes closed while in the lotus position.

So true!

Heh... I always proofread my posts.

I'm so anal about my grammar and spelling that I actually have a dictionary and thesaurus next to my computer, which I use sometimes when making a post.  Sometimes I worry that I'm a little obsessive-compulsive about it, but your post makes me feel a little better about my perfectionism towards writing!

Peace,

RebelSteve

I don't know what to say. I guess basically since this is a forum, I will type more efficiently and not proof read. If I was writing a letter to a business or something, I would proof read.

impeccability in grammar? i think my grammar is impeccable, even though i refuse to capitalize any words, and sometimes use this... when typing... i feel sometimes i can get my point across better.... so... i don't like "standard" grammar practices. impeccablity has to come from within, not an english book. for me, it is perfect, and thats what counts right?

I knew my incessant proofreading would pay off one day! Swami's approval! And it's mine, all mine!

Oh shit, I started a sentence with "and".

Seriously though, I wonder why some folk are so resistant to the Laws of the Land of Language. In grade school I used to correct people whenever they used the word "seen" instead of "saw". Then one day I realized I was an ass.

Seems many here miss the point. It is not about my approval; it is about meditating each act as if all were of equal significance.
