My mini mono cracked and coir/verm is drying out
    #15926537 - 03/09/12 08:24 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

My mini mono is drying, its not contaminated. It's pulling away from the walls of the tub, cracking on the surface, and slowly colonizing, if at all anymore. Can I hydrate by misting without triggering pins?

Quick side question. My other tub has plenty of moisture and is growing nicely. I should wait til the myc fully colonizes the bottom like a BRF jar correct? Then no consolidation is necessary, from my understanding.

To clarify.

The side of the Sterilite container cracked. Which I think is letting out too much moisture.

Also the surface is cracking too.

Mist it.

Don't try to mist the air, wet the block down. Spray it directly and abundantly.
Why is your tub cracking? Can you tape it?

You make it all possible. Doesn't it feel good?

Yeah I can use packing tape and plan to. Guess I'll do it right now. I cracked it while drilling, like I did a year ago to my SGFC. It didn't effect that then, seeing it make a big difference now.

taped and sprayed. When do I stop spraying/how often should I? Til the moisture level seems to equal my other tub? What about my side question?

Once your sub is fully colonized, uncover yer sub, turn yer light on, mist lightly but frequently and watch for pinning/knotting, after pinning starts , place in fruiting chamber
