1) case fully colonized substrate and put in GC immediately.

2) Let newly cased fully colonized substrate sit in incubator till casing surface is fully colonized. then put in GC

Which process is better for quality and quantity? Is that worth waiting for if you are in a rush?
Opinions? What you do and why?

The recommended method is to case, patch at first sings of mycelium, and leave in incubation until 20-30% (depeding on strain) or so of the casings valleys have mycelium appearing. Then put it into the fruiting chamber with high humidity and high air exchange. This method, IDE produces the nicest pinsets and flushes.

Would you consider this 30%? My friend has heard that you need more than that b4 you put in GC . He is wondering when to put it in

Definitely put that into the fruiting chamber with high humidity and high air exchange, right now. Also, as long as your casing isn't too wet already, you can give it a nice spraying while your at it.
This is what it should look like when putting it into the fruiting chamber: (it should actually be a bit less colonized). This tray was taken out of the fridge when it looked like this and went right into the chamber.
and here are the results from it:
The right side of the tray had a bunch of fruits already picked.
