I have only ever used a pressure cooker, so I was curious. Last night i steamed 10 BRF jars. I am going to inoculate them, along side 2 that I did pressure cook. To see if i have a difference.
I steamed the 10 jars for 1hr30min. Pressure cooked 2 for 40mins.

Pressure cooking isnt necessary for BRF jars, but its better. But thats just from what I have read and heard. Silicone injector ports.. How do the cakes breathe? Can they do their CO2 exchange? I forgot to wipe the lip of my jars, so that is why I am remaking them. I am also steaming them multiple times.. Just to be sure.

Would it be possible to fruit in one of these? Like maybe 2 cakes? Im talking about laying it on its side, like one of those bottles with model boats in em lol. And one end flattened a bit so it will stay that way. Maybe a few small holes on the top. Whata think?

I just started my first experiment and here is my advice Screw that pretzel bottle that shits ghetto. go buy a Rubbermaid and shot gun that shit. Also i said screw micro pore tape and just did a nice layer of dry verm on top of my jars which have 3 holes not 4. Also person ly i would take a small like 5 qt plastic tray and use some coir and make a tray. Just use one of your jars. Thats what i did and its 10 times cooler watching myc grow on a bulk substraight than a jar but i guess you have to wait till they colin ize for that. To each there own and good luck.

Nice brotha But im going to case that pretzel container. Its bigger than you think. The simpler, the better in my opinion. I only have four cakes, so im going to case two of them, and fruit the other two in small plastic containers like soda bottles, but thats just a plan They work out better than people give them credit for, but thats just what hours of research has showed me. I dont want to make a shotgun at this point brotha, just too much ya know? Ima start out with tiny cute terrariums that i can put on top of a dresser so i can watch the magic happen
