Is a black trash bag neccesary for a grey monotub?
    #15920208 - 03/08/12 03:27 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

im about to start making mine, and am wondering if it is really neccesary to line the bottom with a trash bag? what would happen if i did not use a trash bag and just put my substrate on the tub? I have read alot of post and some people say it is neccesary to do that because the substrate shrinks, and thus causes major side pinning.

I don't wrap my substrates in a trash bag anymore.
& don't really have problems w/ side pins.
They're nice for cleaning up, because you just pull the whole substrate outta your tub & it's ready to go again.
But, they're a bit hard to work w/ while spawning to bulk.
I didn't like using them & now I don't ever use them.

Youll want to carefully place the garbage bag in your tub, don't tape it though.

Fuck cutting plexiglass!  Use a clear tub and a black garbage bag.
