Why do cakes.....
    #15915431 - 03/07/12 06:23 PM (12 years, 10 months ago)

Why do cakes bruise?

Also, why would cakes that had been pinning in the jar refuse to fruit after birthing?

Cakes blue as they dry out I believe. Lack of moisture could also explain a lack of fruit...

Pretty sure cakes bruise because of being touched. I was just wondering why.

They bruise because they have psilocin and psilocybin just like the mushrooms do.

Any of these things can cause a cake not to fruit:Too bruised, too dry, too low of rh in your fruiting chamber, not enough consolidation time, not enough nutrients(if you have a tiny cake), not enough air exchange in your fc, you could have non-fruiting strains in the cake.

Lol. Now what Tooty? Do you tell him what it means and violate the intent of the instruction? Or not tell him and let him keep violating the instruction itself out of ignorance?

To quote the immortal Keanu reeves in Speed: "what do you do? What do you do?"

Pretty sure it has to do with the oxidation of the psilocybin and/or psilocin.  Same reason the mushrooms turn blue on the edges when you pick them.
