Question about old coir
    #15913094 - 03/07/12 09:05 AM (12 years, 10 months ago)

So between three and four days ago my buddy put coir and verm in a 5 gallon bucket with boiling water and it has been sitting since and he was wondering if the coir was still viable for use in a monotub

Should be fine.

Just pasteurize it again.

If it hasn't turned into mud yet.

As long as you haven't opened the bucket, it's fine to use as is.
I've read posts where RR has prepped coir & used it months later w/out a problem.
Coir is extremely contam resistant.
