Hey guys, let me know hows these look. They've been going for a good 20 days or so. Less than optimal jar size, but had to make due with the tall 1/2 pint jars.
Aussie,

They look swell! Healthy, rhizomorphic growth as far as I can tell. You will probably have full colonization in a week or two. And the taller jars probably aren't idea for the PF tek (BRF + vermiculite), but as long as the conditions are optimal, I think they'll be fine. Plan on fruiting those as cakes?

Yeah, I wanted to start out slow and just learn as much as possible before I go deeper. Basically to see if I suck or not lol.
So since they are the taller jars, should i put the cakes on their sides in FC? Or is that a bad idea

Good rizomorphic strain. What race of cubes are you using? First grow? I bet you can't wait to birth them.

There's probably no need to lay them down. If you keep them standing up though, there's definitely more surface area for pins to form.

When you are ready to put them in your FC (hopefully a shotgun FC) just use the jar lids as a foundation to stand the cakes on, should be fine.

Dude! Case those cakes!!! Don't kid yourself. You'll end up with a way better pinset. I used to birth them as cakes but once I crumbled and cased, I never went back!!! Or you should at least experiment. You have six jars right? Case at least three of them and birth the other three. Your next grow you'll know which way to go. Which ever rout you take, post you picture.

Yea that sucks about the bunks. We've all had that happen before. Most places will replace them if your honest enough about it. Send pics of your jars with your emails for proof and be understandable and not a dick in the email ha ha. In your case the MS was free so prob not an option, but in most cases you are their consumer and suppliers want you to be satisfied. They'd like to keep you as a customer.

Wow I just checked out "little shop of spores". Ouch! That's a little on the high side. How long did it take to ship?
