Assuming it's the same debt, yeah...that's presumed to be a violation...or rather 27 violations. Don't count on getting 27k, but you could certainly sue them.
Of course, if it's the actual creditor that you opened the account with, that doesn't apply. The rules only apply to third party collection agencies.

Starting graduate school soon and I keep contemplating a law degree. What type of learning is in law school? I've been doing primarily research, memorizing and writing.

Not a lot of memorizing in law school. A fair amount of writing and some research. Most of law school is learning how to conceptualize the law and how it all fits together. It's not really knowledge based as much as logic based. College is mostly about learning the answers and putting those answers on tests. Law school tests are more about identifying the questions and articulating the process to reach an answer. Rarely is there ever a right or wrong answer, though.
In law school, everything comes down to a maybe.

Question for Enlil
I sold my spare/secondary car to my x girlfriend and we made a contract that she would make payments to me for the car on the 1st of each month until I am paid in full. We both signed the contract. The car is titled in my name and I hold the title until paid in full to what we agreed
6 payments of $500 for $3000 total
I knew it was going to be a bad idea letting her take the car and make payments, but I did it anyways
She has already missed the first payment
How long do I have to wait or how much more time do I have to give her before I go to small claims court? I would also be happy if I could take my car back, can I legally do that since she's missed a payment already?

I'm not a lawyer but my guess is that you should have put those stipulations in the contract. I e made a lot of dumb car deals that I got fucked in so I fell your pain sir.

Usually, these would be determined by the contract itself. I'm assuming you didn't do that. My advice would be to send an email or letter giving her 10 days to cure her default. If she doesn't, you should be able to just take the car. I hope you have a key.

So if somebody letβs just say jack fruit. Decided to take a boat & illegally land on Antarctica. Then they built a castle and declared themselves the king of Antarctica. Would they have any legal grounds to actually have that declared as their country?

How much would you charge me to be my lawyer if we were going to save the world and prevent WWIII and get my kids back?
