Law is something you do because you wouldn't be happy doing anything else. It's not something you get into for the money. You'll never make enough money to compensate you for the misery. There are a lot of unhappy lawyers out there.
Going to law school is a completely different thing, though. Many people graduate law school and never even take the bar. It's great training for many careers.

I know almost nothing about what happened with that.

Could a lawyer/attorney lose their law license for being an adviser for criminal activity? A "concierge"

A lawyer is not allowed to assist a client in breaking the law. This is something that can easily result in disbarment.

Thanks, how about one who is no longer practicing law? Are they breaking any laws by helping an active criminal navigate the law?

Anyone who aids another person in the commission of a crime with the intent that the crime be committed is guilty of that crime to the same extent as the person who committed the crime.
Anyone who actively aids a person in evading capture or prosecution for a crime that was committed in the past is guilty of accessory.
I don't know what you mean by "navigate the law," but if you're talking about giving that person legal advice without a license, that's a crime, too.

#169 I don't why you feel the need to come here to insult someone whom generously donates a considerable amount of his time and professional knowledge free of charge to this community, your comments are unfounded and not appreciated!!! Go somewhere else if you're only here to stir up trouble.

Hi,
What is the current Psilocybin Mushroom law for California?
For example, if I live in California (I'm thinking of moving to Cali soon), currently on east coast.
Whats the law on the books saw for if i have 5 OZs of shrooms, not packaged for resale?
Is each shroom gram treated like 1 cannabis gram? I know sometimes theres drug equilivency laws.

Hey Enlil,
Do you have any thoughts on the law of Delta-8-THC? Seems like that stuff is getting pretty popular...
Also, this is really a great thread. Thanks.

This is a great question. People are saying the farm bill makes any hemp derived cannabinoid legal but I'm pretty sure the fact that delta 9 is federally controlled coupled with the analogue act would trump that. Thank you enlil in advance for any light you can shed here

Here's one cannabis attorney's blog post on why D8THC is legal and why the Analogue Act doesn't apply. I wouldn't want to be the test case when it goes to court for the first time, though:

Not sure you want to trust this guy, considering his legal argument is based on his layman’s understanding of chemistry.
Quote:
An isomer is a type of chemical analog. Specifically, an isomer is one of two or more compounds that contain the same number of atoms of the same elements but differ in structural arrangement and properties. There are thirty (30) known THC isomers. Δ8THC and Δ9THC differ with respect to the location of a single double bond

Misdemeanor for smaller amounts, felony (distribution) for larger amounts. The exact amount that they will consider a felony probably depends on the district attorney.
Here's a really good recent article on this subject:
