I know where I’m at a bunch of cases were dropped because they didn’t want to reveal they’d used those kingfisher cell spoofers to catch the people.

I’ve read a couple police blotter type things recently where it says “acting on a tip, police served a warrant at the residence”.
Can they really get cleared to search a house just because somebody called and “tipped them”??
Or is it likely that the person had a long record or was on probation already?

If you live in a state with a stand your ground/castle law and somebody with a gun kicks your door in and you kill them, is it normal that the police would search your house?

That’s what I thought.
I just came across an article the other day where that happened and it cut from police finding a dead guy with a gun in the doorway to arresting the homeowner after finding drugs while searching the house.
Little scary but glad to know there had to be something they left out there.

If you were to murder somebody and then an angry mob starts chasing you, is it still self defense if you kill some of the mob?
This rittenhouse case has some interesting angles with people chasing him because he was trying to leave the scene of a murder he’d just committed.
I’m guessing if you can prove there was a reasonable chance the mob would kill you then they’ll allow shooting them as self defense even if you had murdered somebody causing the mob in the first place?

Not sure if it helps here, but when a friend got arrested they sent his dogs to the pound, they were not chipped and the place just required pictures of the dogs as proof of ownership. I didn’t have any so the girl just took me aside and told me to google search pictures of identical dogs and bring those. It’s a little different though since they’re trying as hard as they can to give the animals back.
Good luck with the cat.

The wording on Spotify makes me think they planned for that, I noticed it last week.
It was something like getting premium gives you the option to “listen offline”. Which is odd cuz I don’t have premium and I’m able to load podcasts and listen to them offline.

Can a confession be rejected?
I have a friend in jail for a weird situation. Her friend called and said he had crashed his car and needed a ride so she went and picked him up. A couple mins later police pulled them over and arrested them both. It turns out the guy had been doing a drug deal and ended up shooting three people in a crowded parking lot, drove off and crashed his car but escaped from the police until they caught him getting into this girls car.
According to her he told them she didn’t know anything but they’re saying they don’t believe that and are holding her and charging them together.
I’ve never heard of this and kinda think this guy is full of shit and didn’t try to cover her, but idk so here I am

Well I guess I should say statement.
If somebody claims sole responsibility for a crime, can they really say they don’t believe the person?
It’s just an odd situation to me, especially since the girl they’re charging along with the shooter was definitively not involved until after. They have surveillance of the shooting, and the police were initially chasing him while he was alone in his own car prior to crashing.

Well it wasn’t a crime he just said that he had crashed his car.
But I guess what’s throwing me off is I’ve known of a couple situations where two people got caught with drugs on them, and one person said “that’s mine too they’re just holding it for me” and the police were just like oh ok fine then they can go and you’ll get stuck for both bags.
I guess it’s a little different and prob really up to the officers discretion too.

Randomly remembered something that happened when I was like 20 and started wondering about it.
I was with a friend and went to a movie that got out at like 1030PM. Got into my car and my friend finished his drink the second he sat down and went to go toss it in a dumpster at the end of the parking lot like 20 yards away. He walks back and immediately an undercover car blocks me and lights us up.
They said it was suspicious my friend had walked to the back of the lot and looked like drug activity or whatever. Obviously bullshit but we didn’t have anything and just let them run our pockets.
While one guy is talking to us the other guy has our stuff and has begun browsing through our phones. Text convos and pictures for sure because he came over and asked about a picture of a gun in one of the phones, and commented on how it was suspicious all my texts and call logs were deleted (which I did as he was walking to the car).
Is that legal at all? It seems like one of these things that technically isn’t allowed but only if you actively tell them not to do it. It seems like jamming somebody up for walking to their car outside a business isnt grounds for something that invasive.
No idea why this popped into my head it was almost 20 years ago.
