    #1590541 - 05/29/03 09:33 PM (15 years, 29 days ago)

Ok so i let my pressure cooker run out of water on accident and the cakes on the bottom have turned kinda brown at the very very bottom. Dont get me wrong the whole cake isnt burnt or anything just the very very bottom of it. Is is still ok to Innoculate? What exactly will happen if i Innoculate? (Why isnt it ok etc...)

The jars will colonize slowly if at all, and will probably stall.

Substrate is cheap. Time isn't. Trash those fuckers.

Normally I would agree however I had the same thing happen to four jars and they got really black! I started 2 over but left 2 as well for shits and giggles and innoculated them and one of those 2 is is doing the best but the other is doing fair (maybee 7th) and two got really burt so hey its hard to say more experimentation would be nessisary to say for sure but that has been my experence I would think it would destroy there food but I must say the most burt is doing the best as weird as that sounds!
