Name them and explain why briefly! I want an idea on what I should get!

I very much enjoy the king oyster. It's got a sweet meaty texture. Great with anything baked or bbq'd

Know this post was 7 years ago... but I love blue oyster and lion's mane. Lion's mane looks really fun/easy to grow too. I want some a them puff balls!

All of the mycological activities referred to on this website are of a completely legal variety, and are also not mine. Anything that I say that even suggests illegal activity is me lying in an attempt to fit in. Also, I am a dog that has learned to speak english and is using his owner's computer.

Bolete is the best. Puts Morel's and every other mushroom to shame.

The Bolete grows wild out here in CO...  Why do you like it?  I've never had the opportunity to try it, but I'm going hunting this season.

Blue oyster & chestnut [not brown type]. Great with just about everything. From a solid steak with oyster to exceptional stir fry with the delicate forest floor flavour of chestnut.

Good times.

Boletus edulus is the king of mushrooms.  I'd give Morels a close second.  If I can ever figure out how to grow either one of those indoors in commercial quantities, I'll be rich beyond my dreams.

From what I've read it seems like they prefer altitudes above 10,000ft, and typically fruit under fir or spruce trees when they grow out in CO.  Perhaps it's a relationship like truffles have to their host trees...  I wonder if it requires cultivation of both.  Gotta learn some more.
